Title: Who's working Christmas eve?
Post by Guiseppi on Dec 24th, 2007, 10:56am
So I'm currently supervising 2 divorce courthouses. Rest assurred we'll be hopping today. This is everyone's last chance to screw the ex out of their Christmas visitation! They all wait until today, the day before Christmas, to request an "emergency ex-parte hearing!"

All the men will claim the women are doing drugs, and all the women will claim the men are sexually abusing the kids.

Do I sound cynical??? [smiley=huh.gif] Sigh, I'm looking at all of the people lining up already, angry looks on all of their faces, and I can't help but wonder how much energy they waste with their anger and hatred. And what it must do to their kids........okay......Joe is done :(

Wishing you all a blessed, peaceful and pain free Christmas. Luv ya.

What a pitiful thing.  Divorced parents trying to hurt each other....who they really hurt are their children.
They deserve deer turds for Christmas along with a good whippin'.... >:(

Sweetie....try not to let it ruin your holiday.

Looking forward to seeing you in January..

Love to you...
Jackie

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Guiseppi!!  Hope the day goes by quick for you.

John (hubby) is only working til 11:30 and then taking all the guys out for lunch.  I somehow talked him into letting me have the day off so I can finish laundry, last of the gift wrapping and getting the house ready for the gathering here tommorow.

I'm working. Hopefully only until 15:00 or so.

Good thing people's packages don't complain.

Bad thing that packages' people do.

Only a few more hours. Then the (dys)FUN(ction) of having my mom, my sister, and her two girls over. Pat is a saint.

I will be working most of the day, but at least not in the office. It's a kind of "keep your job" thing. Captivate 2.0 sucks. Especially when one is a writing an interactive UNIX training module and cannot bring up an Xterm session.

"kenney is logged in. But, damned if I'll let you do work!"

On the other hand, kids are coming for Christmas dinner so to hell with them after that!

Oh yeah, Merry Christmas to  the rest of you!

Sorry, I should have made this more cheerful than it sounds. I am genuinely enjoying the next two days. You know, grandkids and such. A very unexpected present for the wife and a new electric train should round out everything perfectly!

Nope!  The dealer I was supposed to deliver to today is closed until Jan 2, so I've got the day to help the wife.  (That is an RV dealer.  Let's don't start rumors with all these cops on the board! ;;D)

Hope you hve a wonderful Christmas, and don't let others bad attitudes ruin your day.

I'm here until 4 today, and I'm on call thru Sunday.  Here's to hoping my phone won't ring in the morning until after my boys are done opening gifts.  I love playing Santa!!!!  Merry Christmas to all of you, enjoy your time as best you can!

I just finished my "half day" and Angie is getting off work at 3:00pm (she started at 5:45am).

Sorry Joe that you have to see the very bitter side of people on Christmas eve, do they not realize they are hurting the kids so badly by doing this!!! [smiley=furious.gif]

I'm trying to get the house clean,  Christmas eve dinner cooked, trying to find out why those dumb outside lights keep going on and off at unscheduled intervals, snow-blowing the neighbor's driveway, snow-blowing MY driveway, and slip in some laundry but no . . . .I'm not working.
;)

I did get an unexpected Christmas surprise when Alienspacebabe (Lizzie) stopped over this morning - what a lovely way to start our Holiday celebration!

I too will never understand why kids have to bear the brunt of our frustrations as parents/ex's.  ::)

As for "who's working Christmas Eve?" Every mummy in the world that's who!! LOL I've heard of housemaids knee and tennis elbow - well I think I have gift wrapping wrist  ;;D

Jesse is working right now on 1st shift and he's on 1st shift again tomorrow.  We're celebrating Christmas when he gets home today with just us and the kids because it just won't be the same without him here tomorrow morning. :(

Saw this a couple days ago on the news.  I hope it cheers you up... http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/12/21/assignment_america/main3640464.shtml?source=RSSattr=HOME_3640464

One of the fringe benefits of being a teacher is a nice long holiday, although after dealing with the excitement of the holidays with my lovely students, I need it all!! Are your girls coming home? Have a wonderful holiday and leave the office there when you finally get out!

My youngest flew in from Denver earlier this week and my eldest gets in today. Make no mistake, I'll have my family around me this weekend and will once again be counting my blessings! Between that family and my CH family, a man couldn't justify asking for much else.

Oy - I've just read this.  Haven't been on the boards much the past few days.  One of the reasons is that I worked Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 7am-7pm both days taking care of a couple of really sick babies.

The days were very long, but the babies need someone to take care of them!!

Hope you had a good Christmas just the same!  I had today off, but I work tomorrow 3-11 and then 7a-7p again on Saturday and Sunday.  Sucks that Christmas week had to be my busy week to work!

Hugz and Merry Christmas!
Carrie :)

Yeah, I was working.  My hot water heater kind of exploded on Christmas Eve morning.  Luckily Lowe's was open, so I was able to get everything I needed to replace it.  Even went up from a 30 gallon to a 40 gallon tank - it was only $20 more.

Hot water is good!

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas in spite of any trials and tribulations you faced.

Happy New Year!

Mike

The only work I did on Christmas day was helping my daughter to open her presents and went back to bed because I was very sick, but I got the joy to see her face all glowing with excitement because Santa ate all the cookies she left out for him  ;). yes Christmas is all about our children  ;;D

Yes, hot H2O is a great thing.

So, do you sweat all your own new pipes to hook up the bigger unit?

I have in the past on other jobs, but this place is piped in 3/4" galvanized pipe, so that's what I went back with.
