Title: Thank goodness it's over
Post by BarbaraD on Dec 26th, 2007, 4:27pm
My kids just left and the dogs and I are about to settle down.... thank goodness Christmas only comes once a year....

It was great while it was here, but I'm always glad when it's over. About a week from now my house should be back to normal...

Hope ya'll had a merry one....

Hugs BD

Personally I can't wait to take my tree down now - I want my living room back! It will be down before New Years Eve though. I refuse to see the New Year in amidst the detritus of the old year. It means I get to take the tree down without being depressed about it either so heads I win tails - umm I win again! LOL

Barb - how I wish I could just take it all down now!  I'm pretty much done with all of this.

Unfortunately, we have one more Christmas to get through on the 29th.

There'll be 15 of us here for dinner and gift opening.

God help me what was I thinking when I joined forces with a man who had 4 kids - forgot to think about how many grandkids that was going to give us one day.

It will be a fun day, but a ton of work as you all know.

Their backsides won't be all the way out the door before I'll be dismantling.

Like Helen - I want my house back!!!! ;;D

Well, I had plans on taking the tree down today, however one headache (sinus/migraine/don't know but it won't go away) and Sarah and Jimbo are still at the ER, so that blew my plans to hell and back.  It WILL be down before this weekend.  And all the other pretties will be packed safely away until next year.

'darlin who don't feel too 'darlin right now

AFTER a crowd on Christmas Eve (fondue dinner) Christmas Morning (breakfast for the family) and the full meal deal for Christmas dinner, I spent the day in my jammies simply admiring the tree and the silence.....what a joy! I love Christmas, and my clan, but all day I have been calling for housekeeping and they never show up!
Today was MY day, no cooking, no wrapping, no cleaning and no noise. I loved it-
BUT-
The BEST part of Christmas '08 at the Pierces was the fact that we, in the PNW, had a white Christmas- yes, a teensie tiny snowstorm that put down just enough for a snowball fight, then it turned to rain and everyone was able to drive home safely.

Sooooooooooo............
to all, a good night, hope all your Christmases were bright!
