Title: If it ain't one thing~Sarah~
Post by deltadarlin on Dec 27th, 2007, 7:35am
Got thru Christmas okay.  Yesterday, had to take Sarah to doc who sent her on to hospital with *possible* appendicitis.
Kept her overnight.  Jimbo stayed last night with her, because I can't seem to get the pain in my head to go away (going on 31 hours now and yes I've seen a doctor and by now, it's probably aggravated by stress more than anything).

Headed back up to the hospital now to catch the surgeon and see what he says.  Talked to Jimbo and she's still hurting so surgery might very wel be a go.

Helen,
Check your messages.

'darlin who don't feel 'darlin no more

Hoping Sarah soon gets some answers and some relief from the pain.

Carolyn - sorry to hear that you too are hurting.  Wishing you some PF time now!!!

Things seem to come in bunches when we least need them.

Hugs
Carol

I've just got off the phone with Carolyn, Sarah STILL hasn't seen the surgeon but they've pumped her full of pain drugs. Carolyn is suffering with a neverending migraine and this stress isn't helping her but someone had just come to see them this minute so Ill call back in a couple of hours for an update.

love
Helen

We are back.  Guess what?  They never did figure out what was *wrong* with her.  Doc finally came in and you could tell that he was bumfuzzled.  He kept talking about her IBS (sarah knows her diseases inside and out and she'll tell you that ain't what it was), but since there was nothing they could find, he referred her to another Gastro and sent her home (he did send her home with pain meds).

Now for a rant.  For this to be a *private* Catholic hospital, this was the absolute worst scenario I have ever seen.  It appears that the *right hand* didn't know what the *left hand* was doing.  Communications were $hit.  I guarantee you that I've walked at least 10 miles today, just to keep from exploding and going upside somebody's head.  You can bet your sweet a$$ that when I fill out the *after care* form, they are not going to be happy (even if they don't send a form, Sarah and I are planning on writing a formal response telling them just how *impressed* we were with the level of competency.

Now, my head is slowly easing up (thank-goodness, given that it's hurt pretty much for the last 42 hours) and hopefully with a good nights sleep, my *attitude* will improve greatly.

I'm curious if they say what her white count was?

I'm glad to hear your head is easing up.  Hopefully these people will get their heads out of their asses and figure out what is going on.

They should rename the place "Southeast Parable Hospital."

How's Sarah feeling today, Carolyn?

Hope your head has finally settled down.

Hopefully you both had a good night's sleep.

Carolyn, it might be worth a trip to a GYN. Ovarian cysts can cause a pain quite similar to appendicitis. Been there, done that.

pf wishes to both of you... oh, and Jimbo, too.

hugs, nani

Well, it depends on who you ask.  That night, she was told that her wbc was normal.  The next day, the surgeon told her that it had dropped and gone back to normal.  WTF?

nani,
Well, again, it depends on who you ask.  When they did the ultrasound, supposedly they couldn't see the ovary.  The next day, the surgeon said that it was fine.  I don't think it's an ovarian cyst (she's had one that didn't bother her and I've also had one that did bother me), however, I did keep *mentioning* that she has endo and it could be an adhesion and got met with blind incomprehension and no, it's not that.  Sarah said that if she didn't get any better, she was going to call her endo doc next week and get an appointment.

I'm here, and that's about it.  My head/neck is playing tricks with me.  Now, the left side is giving me fits, could be TMJ due to stress (teeth are sore).  I am able to sleep, so that's a plus (but I think that's when I'm locking my jaw).  Oh well, it's not fatal, so I'll get through this eventually, and since I'm not working the potential for me causing someone bodily harm because of their own stupidity is remarkably low  ;;D.

I'm not a Doc and this is just my two cents  ;)

My three oldest all have Endometreosis and Poly-cystic Ovarian Disease and let me tell you either of them is plenty painful for some.  While my 16 y/o is much less bothered by the symptoms than my oldest two, endo can cause a lot of pain without any elevation in WBC.  If it's the a cyst on an ovary that would elevate the WBC.

I think making an appt with her endo Doc is a good idea.  These ER jerks are just wasting your Insurance Companies money.

Good luck...
