Hi, and a question

I'm in a bit of a hurry now so i'll be short in introducing i just need an opinion right now but i'll be much nicer in the future.
Yesterday, i was diagnosed as a cluster headache sufferer, together with a strange type of epilepsia. I don't need to explain the pain, right? Anyway the big question for me is the following: Has it been recorded or has anyone here ever had in between of attacks light pain in the general area where the strong attacks occur which are not an aura or something because they come completely independent of the strong attacks and they act on their own without any chronological or symptomatic connection with the attacks.
So do cluster headaches include light pain or are there only strong attacks?
Very important for me to have certainty in my diagnosis although  I really have 70% of common symptoms i am not sure because it started just 4 months ago and had a pause of one month in between. I have been diagnosed with a heavy sinus infection before but i have tried to convince my doctors that i have had chronic sinusitis before all my childhood and that the pain relation is 1/20 between. Later the otorhino  doc diagnosed trigemenus neuralgy  but by new neurologist who've i'we met yesterday said it was all rubish and that i could have gotten seriously worse if i haven't found her. Also it was connected with two upper completely ruined teeth -left 6 and right 5 both complicated. they have been treated and cured by one of the best dentists in my country but the pain prevailed. etc... I'll be back soon and i am very happy   to have found my new neurologist who took seriosly my pain and recognized it and for me finding this page and to have some one to talk about this hell which practically puts
a point on the end of the sentence of your life.

P.S. epilepsia and cluster have made my life very hard but in return i got a nice thing. This state of mind i am in produces a lot of inspiration and i would like , if you accept me as a member of this community , to share with you my poems, music , movies and cetera i created because of the effect of this serious constant near death feeling i have.

Yes there are mild attacks, that's why we have a scale.  Also residual pain is very common after very intense attacks, usually 8 or higher for me will leave that side of my head sore for a while.

Variation in the intensity of pain and location is not unusual with CH. In fact, there are a very few people who have pain free CH! Most unusual.

For some people, their symptoms may change over several months or years before settling down to the pattern which you read about here and in books.

Many doctors will not see CH for years and so it is not a surprise that many of them do not recognize the problem. We have all gone through that experience. This is why we recommend that you have medical information, in print, to share with your doctor, about CH, its treatment, etc. Many of us have had to educate our doctors before we could get good care!

Hi Damian, the pain you describe sounds like a shadow or what I descibe as a CH hangover. I usually have a residual pain on the side of the CH after a particularly bad hit, the shadow usually before a bad hit.
Welcome to the family chap Wink
