Title: Just looking to Introduce Myself
Post by Lexy on Feb 28th, 2006, 8:12pm
My name is Lexy.
For a few years, I had been told that these were migraines, finally a diagnosis makes sense. I was told by a friend to search up on these "cluster headaches", and I found you all.
I just thought I'd let y'all know I'll be lurking around here a little bit, getting a feel for what this condition is and if it is what I have been suffering.

My first episode was before the 2004 elections, during the Presidential Debate (which, I was watching as a Canadian). I had taken a nap, and awoke feeling a strain in my neck. I sat down on the couch, and almost immediatly was back on my feet again. I wound up standing and screaming in the hallway between my room and the bathroom, not knowing whether to go lay on the bed or to go to the bathroom and vomit.
I was admitted to emergency for the first of many within the following days.
One of these emergency visits warranted an MRI, the next a Lumbar Puncture.
All with no clues as to what might be causing this massive headache that came back, almost worse, everytime I woke up.

Anyway.. I wish all of you the best in your travels in life. And I'll be seeing you here and there as I poke around the site.
Thanks for having this community. It's a great source of information and community.

Lexy,

Welcome to the site. Sorry, like the others, that you have a reason to find us.

Serious part over. Now, regarding your first episode..... If you, as a Canadian, had this reaction to the 2004 Presidential Debates, imagine how us yanks felt. No matter who you were pulling for it was, as they say in some circles, a clusterf%&*. First time I've actually heard it rising to the level of a Cluster Headache though......  [smiley=laugh.gif]

You can lurk all you want. Learn much and find the many great tools that are available to help you cope.

Scott
