I was given one jar of cream called "Headache cream" by my mother a few months ago. She got it from a health fair she went to.
Now, I have had shadows a few times since I got the jar and I haven't tried it. I did try it when I got a regular migraine (it is advertised to be a relief for those) and it did help for a while, but then the migraine continued.
The cream I've got doesn't have capsaicin, but I'm still sceptical. The cream helped a bit, but not so much that I could say that it made a read difference and it's supposed to help with a migraine.
But, having said that, if I'll get again those "nothing-works-with-these-shadows", I might try that cream...

I used prescription strength Zostrix capsaicin cream on a Doctor's recommendation for CH. It was the worst thing I could have done.
When I get hit, I sweat, nose runs, eyes tear, etc. That "stuff" gets everywhere, eyes, nose, etc. 
There isn't a chance that I would ever try this again, nor recommend it to my worst enemy.

What's with all these threads in CAPITAL LETTERS? I thought that was like yelling on a message board.
Okay, that's a little off topic. Capsaicin cream...been there, done that, even swabbed the inside of my nose with it, bought the T-shirt. It did nothing except blister the right side of my face, which at least caused some of my friends to be more sympathetic 
But hey, what ever works for you...any port in a storm.
