Vaseline brother!
If overly congested as some of us get...I vary from draining to stuffy.

I coat my nostrils with a lubricant.

It can help with the bleeding

you can also try to humidify yourself...if you live in an area that is dry.  We run a portible humidifer 24/7 in our house.  Mike (my hubby) used to get nosebleeds as well - but the humidifier really helped with that.  In a pinch, you can also stand over a sink of hot water and inhale - it can help as well.

Mostly the old snoz runs when getting hit @ 4 or 5 and above.  Less severe attacks tend to not involve fluid snot.  My nose never bleeds but I've seen other folks ask about it here on several occasions.
