Title: has anyone heard of chronic paroxysmal hemicrania?
Post by srichards on Feb 7th, 2006, 10:38pm
I am still trying to figure out what my head pain is.  The dr keeps saying that it is Migraines.  But being that I have had many many migraines - I can definately say these are NOT migraines.  They have now tried 6 diferent migraine medications all which either do nothing or make my headache worse.  I am starting to get so frustrated, since I get this pain off and on all day every day, and nothign works to get rid of it.  Then tonight I came across chronic paroxysmal hemicrania - which sounds like maybe this could be it.  I posted below earlier with what goes on with my headaches.  I just wish the doctors would listen to what I am telling them instead of getting out their prescription pad and just giving me some oher medication that does not work.

If so........you can ask doctor for a trial of indomethacin.

paroxysmal hemicrania will be near 100% responsive to it!!!

Indo. is essentially advil on crack haha

Seriously!

It is a super potent NSAID and will help and you will know relatively quickly.

It helps with a few other HA types as well.

PS Where do you describe your HA's?

Ditto to Eric.  Indo has been proven to help with CPH.  Research, print it out and take it to your doc.

Hugs,

Kris

It doesn't sound like paroxysmal hemicrania either because there are far to few attacks.

Get back to a headache specialist!!!!!!!!

U could still inquire about indomethacin since it works for quite a few HA types.

Good luck!
