Title: energy gum
Post by jace77 on Feb 23rd, 2008, 8:22am
I was at CVS yesterday and saw they carry a energy gum, it says 2 pieces equal 1 energy drink, checked the ingredients and it does have taurine in it.  It was something like 1.69 for 10 pieces and com and is sugarless.  Comes in cinnamon, mint and some other flavor.
Made by mad-croc

Has anyone tried this as an alternative to the drinks?

I would think that chewing the gum would be sort of a slow release of the caffine and taurine, where as with the drinks, it is recommended to slam the drink as fast as you can.

Minutes count when warding off the beast.  I would tend to think that this woudn't be fast enough.

I've seen 4 different kind of gums with caffeine and/or taurine on sale back in here. I have used one brand myself and it helps a bit with shadows, but its not anywhere near the effectiveness the energy drinks have, so I'm used it as additional product, not as energy drink alternative.

I haven't tried the mad-croc one (though I've seen it), but the one I've seen has just one flavour and it doesn't say a thing about how it compares to energy drinks. Gums I've seen here are guite expensive, so I haven't searched them that much.
