Title: Okay CH you're getting annoying !
Post by Peaches on Feb 24th, 2008, 3:39am
The following is just a vent by me so feel free to totlly ignore it.

This cycle has been around long enough!! Now go away! But "it" doesn't listen.

Just went thorough weeks and weeks of a cycle - finally got diagnosed -Whew!- and the medication seemed to be working, not 100% but working non the less. Several
PF nights with a few shadowy nights inbetween that I was able to work through quickly and never got a full blown attack.

Then came Friday night and what the he__ happened? The shadows were nasty little critters edging their way toward 'the big one' I just couldn't work them away and it went on all day on Saturday too. Now it's 3:30am on Saturday night and I'm up after an attack that wouldn't go away. Not a full blown, bang my head on the floor,  cry and whimper one but still nasty painful. Lots of congestion too.
Goes away for a few minutes only to try to sneak back in.
Gawd, I'm so tired. Please, you rotten SOB, let me sleep!

-----End Ranty---------

Looking for sympathy, Peaches?  You've got it.  Want a bit of empathy and a shoulder to cry on?  You've got it in spades.

Wanna yell, scream, grit your little fists together, stamp your feet and hold your breath till you turn blue?

You're in just the right place to do it because you're amongst friends now.

Welcome home and swear until your little heart's happy.

Perhaps we'll learn some new words.

Thanks on all accounts. Ignoring the spelling errors in my original message included.

Got almost 3 solid hours in a row of sleep and feel a little better now.  Still very shadowy and congested though.

Have you tried a can of Red Bull and some melatonin before bed?

Don't know what you're taking, so all I can do is empathize and sympathize. But we all know where you're coming from.

Hugs BD

Poor thing, sucks indeed to have these demons in our heads.  Try adding a benadryl to the melatonin/Redbull treatment and take a decongestant during the afternoon.  Super B vitamin complex and lotsa water to flush all the crap we have to take to survive these damn things out of our system.  Pf day and night to ya -
Sympathetic Judi

This emoticon is kinda how my eyes feel during attack of the beast...  add tears....

you have to vent somewhere.  I wont stop you.  I feel the frustration too.  So you are not alone.  At least you got diagnosed which is the first step to finding the right treatment for you.  All I can tell you is to consider some of the advice the people here are giving you and I hope your cycle end s very soon!!!!!

Many, many thanks to all of you. This is a great place.

I'm taking Depakote and at the advice of many here, Red Bull. (tastes gross, works like a charm).

Today's mission is to buy a bottle of Melatonin and while at the drugstore I'll ask the pharmacist what decongestant is ok to take with the Depakote.

Is it odd that I can almost predict when a cluster is coming on and how bad it's likely to be by amount of congestion in that side of my head? The other side does't get congested at all except during a severe attack.

Tomorrow my 'to do' list consists of calling my neuro. and asking for an Rx for Oxygen.

Today was one of those zombie days that I'm sure anyone with CH has experienced on more than a few occasions. It stinks! Here we have a nice winter day when I could have gone skiing with my sons and their friends and here I am at home zonked and battered.

Worst is I didin't manage to buy the winning Mega Million Lottery ticket so my get rich quick scheme which would have allowed me to have my very own personal traveling physician didn't work either.  ;)

I'm with you, too.  It's bed time and I don't wanna go into battle again either.

I took my 80 mg of prednisone, 360 of verapamil at 6, now I'm off for a RB (yuck) and 50 mg of diphenhydramine at 11.

PF nights to all of us.    8)

Becky,

Yes, Red Bull works for a "lot" of us. Chug-a-lug a can of it at the first sign of CH. It's loaded with caffeine and taurine and seems to abort a hit if you get to it quick enough. But remember - NOTHING works for everyone.

It's worth a try....
