Title: Jefferson Headache clinic
Post by kevmd on Mar 24th, 2008, 10:09pm
Anyone in the philly area been to the Jefferson Headache clinic. I have an appt in July (yeah , only 4 months away)  with Dr Silbestein.  From what I can see online, I think I have a good one.  I particularly like this quote of his I found

""We believe pain begets pain. So nipping it in the bud can only be helpful down the road ... If you're not getting adequate therapy or care, then get a new doctor." Hmmmmmmm. Does that sound familiar? If you frequent our forums, you've probably seen me say "Fire his or her sorry butt!"

Also looks like he has done some work/research with Goadsby.  My current neuro is a nice guy but not very agressive.  I think its time to move on

I went to Jefferson years ago and was not happy with the treatment.  Others have gone and were satisfied.

I know Lisa (swimchica) goes to Jefferson so maybe she will see your post and reply.

Sorry you have to wait so long but that's about the normal amount of time it takes to get an appointment there.

If you are not happy with Jefferson, let me know and I can forward the name and phone number of my neurologist who is on City Line Avenue in Philly.

Best of luck to you.

Lisa:  Still getting use to abbreviations...what is PMs??

Kevinmd:  We are also trying to find a "specialist" to see in the NE.  My neurologist recommended Dr. Kaniecki MD at the Univ of Philly Headache Center.  Here is a link to him http://findadoc.upmc.com/PhysicianBioQuery.aspx?ID=25002096&A=

I have no clue who knows what they are talking about and who just wants to put up a headache specialist sign, but it looks like we might have to travel from Maine to Philly to find help.  Amazing there appears to only be "shingles" hung in Boston.

Good luck with your referral!!!!
