Title: Imitrex in Great Britain?
Post by Stoic on Apr 4th, 2008, 12:33pm
I mentioned this near the end of a different thread, and got no response. So I'll ask again here.

My wife and I are taking a trip to England and Scotland in late May. We'll be there for 17 days, and while I'm building my Imitrex stash in anticipation, I'll be in trouble if I start a cycle while there.

I've heard that Imitrex is available in GB under a different name, and quite a bit cheaper. Is this true? Are there any obstacles -- other than the current state of the dollar -- to purchasing Imitrex while there?

Thanks

As far as I am aware, Imitrex injections (Called Imigran in the UK), are only available through prescription from a GP. Imigran tablets (5Omg) are available over the counter (marketed for migraines).

Stoic If you would like to meet up while you are here please send me a pm and I'll arrange a meet and greet for you, We'll all turn out to meet you and your wife  :)

I'm more than happy to give you my address and telephone number and if I can help in any way whilst you are here I will. I'm happy to call or email you beforehand to answer any questions, I have free international phone calls so it really isn't a problem.

I hope we get to meet, I hope you have a fantastic holiday here regardless!

Helen

What an incredibly nice offer, Helen! We really appreciate it. But we'll be part of a tour, with the schedule pretty much cut and dried.

What part of England are you in? We spent a year in Cambridge more than 25 years ago, and became great Anglophiles.

Thanks again.

Bob

Hi Stoic, I had to buy Imigran (Imitrex) over tha counter. They cost £8 for 2 and they were called "Imigran Recovery" you can only get them from a pharmasist such as Boots or Lloyds. You also have to fill in a sort of registration questionaire before they will sell them to you. Hope you have a wonderfull time in our fair country :)

Stoic I'm about 45 mins to an hour from Cambridge by car. I can get into London by train in 1 hour ten minutes and I'm in the Midlands so check the tour schedule and see where you will be etc. If you want to meet up for an hour or for a coffee or something like that then let me know! There is nothing as good as meeting up with other clusterheads!

Hi, Stoic

I am pretty much a newbie here but as "zanychef" offered I can pass you a couple of the syringes or nasal sprays if you need them in Scotland during your tour. I am very close to Edinburgh (30 mins) ;;D

Anything to help drive the beast back ;)
I'll PM my home tel, email & mobile if you want to get in touch.

Gill
