Dallas Arboretum  22.4 miles

Dallas Fort Worth Zoo  26.2 miles

Donna,
Many moons ago when I was in dallas, there was a place that had been *revived* and had a lot of funky shops and tea rooms (think the street was *green something*).  Do you have any idea of what I'm talking about?

Carolyn,

That would be lower Greenville avenue.

Thank you for posting the information about the arboretum.  I knew you had specifically asked about it, sorry I didn't get it sooner!

Last time I was in Dallas I met up with friends from Amarillo too and we went to where Kennedy was shot and Fort Worth amongst other places. I can honestly say I had the time of my life, before and during the convention.

Maybe it was because it was my first ever convention, maybe because it was Dallas.. maybe alot of things!! All I do know is nowhere has measured up to Dallas since, it's my gold standard for a good time and I'm longing to go back so so much. Not just to see clusterheads, but to the magic Texas created for me. Obviously I really AM a West Texan and it wasn't just a piece of devilry from Jean and Donna LOL

I love Dallas, I love being with Clusterheads. This is a true homecoming for me in every way.

GOOD GRIEF BUT I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

That wasn't meant as a reflection on anywhere else Brew.. merely that  - oh how can I explain this?!!

You can only have a first convention once.. a first anything ONCE.. after that you know how it's going to be. It's fun, it's exciting, its wonderful and you cry when you leave everyone (at least I do) but you KNOW what it's like. You KNOW how it feels.. There can only be that trepidation and that "What the hell am I doing?!" once though!!!

I know others go to a convention to have it as part of their holiday too and I fully understand that, but, for me, the convention IS what I go for.

I don't go outside the hotel other than to restaurants or what have you. I didn't go sightseeing in Milwaukee or Richmond, not because they were places I didn't want to see.. but I wanted to see clusterheads more.

Even Dallas this time won't be Dallas LAST TIME, FIRST TIME.

Does that make sense?

I'll never forget the others, Milwaukee and the Triptans and fireflies for instance.. Its just that Dallas was my first!

I'm going to shut up now before I can't climb out of this cos I'm only a shortarse!!
