One of them sits in front of the fridge and the other sits in front of the stove. What am I posta do?!?!
I get the same hissing sound out of both of them when I tell them to move............

Ok, the Mom in me is coming out...
Simply relocate the reading space to a really comfy overstuffed chair and the cat to the garage for duration of the oven usage.
No one gets hurt, and all are fed a good meal. Problem solved.
