Fame does not equal intelligence, empathy, insight, or character. Ability in one endeavor means nothing in another ("There is no one so ignorant as an expert out of his field" ).
Fame simply provides a platform. Some use it for the benefit of mankind, some are just Paris Hilton or Zsa Zsa Gabor (famous for, well, being famous). Everyone's got an opinion, even ME. Whether it makes any sense or is complete cobblers, is in the ear of the listener. That it comes from a "famous" person has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with it.
Tom Cruise is a damn good actor (Risky Business and Rain Man being among my favorites) AND is also a total nut job (so was Marlon Brando). I appreciate the art, I ignore or am amused by EVERYTHING else.
