Title: Can a brother get a vibe?
Post by Jonny on May 18th, 2008, 4:48pm
I got a call from Linda (she lives in my Moms building) at 11:30 saying that my Mom was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

They are going to be doing heart tests to route out any problems there.

When I saw her she was shaking real bad (shes 72) and all I wanted was to hold her, but she said....no, no ,no ill be fine! (tough old broad)

Im not one to beg, but if you could squeeze some goodness Moms way I would be very gratefull!

The whole brewcrew is praying for your mom, Jonny.

Smooches to an Italian Mama.

Modified to add:  Ok . . .brew tells me your mamma's not Italian, but Finnish or Swedish or some such . . . .if that's the case then Lutefisk Smooches for a Nordic Mama!!  Does that cover it?

my mother was diagnosed with lymphoma. i ended up hearing about this through my wife. when i asked her why she didn't tell us she said she didn't want us to worry.  :'(
i think mom has it her her mind that she has to leave us an inheritance but we convinced her that having her around is much more valuable. i don't know why our moms are so selfless.

YUP! That's their job. Mine "worried" about me up to age 49. It used to bug me until I had an epiphany,
Dang Jon, let her do her job....after that, while I still had fun with it (to her bemused consternation) I accepted it.

Any woman who birffed that "Long haired freaky person" deserves a break. Hope she's doing well, Jonny.

"And the sign said long haired freaky people need not apply
So I tucked my hair up under my hat and I went in to ask him why
He said you look like a fine upstanding young man, I think you'll do
So I took off my hat I said imagine that, huh, me working for you."

Thank you all very, very much!

All of Moms tests came back normal and they think she may have had an allergic reaction to something she ate. But, every thing she ate yesterday she has eaten before.
She goes to see her doc tomorrow, so maybe she can figure it out.

It was no fun getting that call ill tell ya, thats how I found out my Dad was dead....The dreaded call!

Thanks again!!

Opps....Sorry I missed your call, Steph...damn tools I use are louder than my phone.

People can and do develop allergies to things late in life.

Like me and work. ;)

It certainly is true that as we age, we can become allergic to things that agreed with us before.

In the past 7 years, I have developed allergies to:

Lipitor
Vioxx (developed ulcer)
Keflex ( and probably penicillin)
Arthrotec (blood pressure went to 223/112)
Baxtrum

I've gotten to the point that I don't want to be prescribed anything new.

Best wishes and prayers for your Mom, Jonny.

Great news Jonny.

The only way I could get my grandmother to let me give her a hug was to tell her that it was not for her, but that I needed it.  Then she gave in.

Sounds like you mom is a lot like her.  Dont know where you could have gotten your stubbornness from, because she obviously still have all of her.

Moms regular doc has her going to a Cardiologist for further testing on her heart, she told Mom that there could be a glitch that didnt show up in the hospital tests and wants to rule that out before moving on.

Mom says she feels fine, but is afraid to eat. That was music to her docs ears, because she has been trying to get Mom to drop weight so they can rebuild her knees. She told Mom "Im not going to cure you just yet" and they both laughed.

Mom wanted me to thank you all, when I told here about this thread she was not suprised because she has been on the prayer and vibe end of this family many, many years ago. She will be by to thank you as soon as they are done running the new internet wires in her building.

As for me, I thank you all for the replies, emails and PM's of support......YOU ROCK!  [smiley=headbanger.gif]
