beta blockers ?

hi all ,

im still awaiting neuro appointment , and have no meds for my clusters specifically as my gp wouldnt perscribe .
(she said this was because any meds may interact with my bipolar drugs , so i have to liase between psych and neuro ), anyway---
she did perscribe propananol , beta blocker .
ive been taking 80mg perday since tuesday of this week , so far ive only had one bad attack and 3 shadow attacks per day .

unsure as to whether this is coincidental , or could be tailoring down of cycle .
i am getting other HA pain though , due to the med i think??, ie like all the blood rushes to my skull on standing and is excruciating for a minute or so , then it fades down . this also happens if i move too quickly or walk up stairs , and the whole head is too sore to touch .

has anyone else had any experiences with this med ?
btw , it also makes me exremely tired , am sleeping far too much and dont have much quality of life at all at the moment , absolutley no energy whatsoever .

thanks for reading x

This is an old line med used for migraine but it appears to have no benefit for cluster.

Here is a link to read and print and take to your doctor.  It describes preventive, transitional, abortive and surgical treatments for CH.  (2002)

Bob rules!
He beat me to it.

Anyway, you can always check interactions on Drugs.com to see if doctors fear is correct.

We are all different yet most of the abortives should not have any effect with regards to your bi-polar meds.

In fact many neuroleptics, psychotropics are used off label to treat CH with different levels of efficacy.

Your GP can get you Oxygen though!!!!!
good luck!

I take several meds of which are antidepressents and antiphycotics.  They do not interact with eaclhother ie triptan drugs.  Talk to your pharmacist he will confirm the meds are ok to take together.
