Averaging 3 - 8 severe attacks everyday & night. Real headbangers !! Plus having to take an Imitrex injection for every attack.
OR
Spend 11 days in the hospital getting Histamine. Insurance company is paying between $25,000 - $35,000 each stay.
This time it only lasted for 2 1/2 weeks after I left the hospital. (PF bliss) Was it worth it ??
I had to pull over on the side of the hwy I-65 and jab, then wait it out before I could drive. It was my second attack of the day.  This SUCKS !!

?????? $35,000.00 for two and a half weeks of PF Bliss. Sounds like a bargain.

No Tony. It's comepletely failed on a few occassions. Once it failed completely twice in a row, but worked good on the next try. ??
It's not the cure*, but it has helped tremendously a few times. I guess I'll take what I can get !!

Well the insurance is paying up so that's a plus... do you want to try for another 2 week pf break? I personally try my best to avoid hospital stays. Cause of the kids and I go right back to pain usually the day I get home so not worth it in my case... (I have not tried the histimine tho)
Sorry things are shitty again. Weigh your pros and cons then make a choice.

Do you take preventatives?I know it sounds like a stupid question to a Hall of famer but without my preventatives my Histamine don't work either.I'm truly sorry your treatment didn't work thats alot to go through for a small amount of relief. I know IV in hand 10 hrs a day SUCKS.
 . Not to change the subject but the last time I was there they were talking about taking out the smoking room.Did they?Hope you feel better.

And yes, we're re-trying an old med, one of the doctors' favorites ... Lithium. It never helped the first 4 times, so I think it's still doing nothing !! I also take Doxepin, and bp meds. ( I'm too lazy to list all the meds I've tried. It's a long list )
I still have to do my balancing act ... alternating between using Imitrex, DHE, steroids, and Histamine. It's my only relief from HELL !!

Man my heart goes out to ya brother. Does DHE work for you I never tried it except at the clinic and that was in my IV and I did not like that.I sure hope you start to get some relief .Major pain free wishes.
