Title: Stretching
Post by JESSICA.D on Jan 23rd, 2006, 2:34pm
To anyone who might find this interesting, I personally found that if I stretch all my muscles when I feel it start, it can help a lot. It doesn't work all the time, but I notice that it does sometimes help.

Jess,

I'm happy that you've found something which helps. :)
That's always fantastic.

I have been stretching, doing regularly pilates and yoga (on and off) during my whole ch time but none of them helped me with the hits. But they did miracles to my attitude! :) I'm PF now and do my pilates every day...

Best wishes & PF time,
Sanna

I too am a yoga-er.  I haven't found it helps with the attacks, but after it sure does make me feel better.  Last night I did a long brisk walk and stretched (yoga) after, it helped a bit.  I think more because of the walk.
I'll keep trying the stretching.

Thanks for the post

Also a yogi... At one point thought some of the meditating along with poses was helping through some hits but when a "real" one blew through I couldn't hold it back with anything. Never got any help for a heavy CH hit but as Sanna says, it sure improves my quality of life outside of CH. As for stretching I can say it would probably be great for those mornings when I wake up curled up on the cold floor in the walk-in closet because that is where I went to "rock" through a "hit".   :P

When I am at full strength - kip 9 and cannot atke it- I have tried walking in circles ( literally) in teh dark - have a pool table and just keep going and going - sometimes for 45 mins until theys top or recede- at a few times it worked a lot quicker where after a while could actually feel teh pain leevl starting to ebb-- something about walking seems to help--
