Title: What is the Best brand for Melatonin?

I've read that the purity of the product has a lot to do with the way it works in your body, so any hints as to what your favorites are? I'm using a Walmart brand which is okay, it works well on most nights with the Benadryl - but I want the best.....after all he's all the man I want and I want him to be as comfortable as possible.......... 8)

I'd treat it like aspirin--the quality is so well established for such a low cost item that brand doesn't assure you of anything special.

In addition, for such low, cost, mass markets items, it's not unsual for 1-2 companies to make everything on the market with only the brand label being different.

It's discouraging that Consumer Reports has run tests on OTC item (vitamins, etc.) and found problems with labels across the price spectrum, i.e., no absolutes.....

Hi Mybelle

I get mine from the natural herb shop "New Sun" brand capsules. 15.00 a bottle for 60/ 3 mg. I have never doubted its effectiveness.

Walgreens "Finest" $11.99 for 240 3mg tablets, often on sale BOGO. Never had a problem, price/quality is there. Larry M

Generic Sav-On Drugs brand used here.  Comes in 3 mg. tablets, and it works just fine.

Although melatonin is mostly derived from chemical synthesis, some comes from animal sources.  So you might want to look into that if it matters to you.  It's still the same stuff, as far as I know.

Best,

George
