Yo, Wayne!  There has been lots of discussion about capsicum here - some people report some success, many say that the pain and drainage were aweful, and the pepper didn't really help.  So how is sinusbuster any better?  Is this your Press Release on PR Wire?  How can you claim "All the sinus busting power of pepper without the burn" when the active ingredient (capsaicin) is measured in terms of scoville heat units - if it doesn't burn, it isn't capsaicin (and doesn't deplete the pain transmitting Substance P from the nerves).

People here are willing to give 100% to help each other out, but have an amazingly low tolerance of anything that hints of hucksterism.  I'm not saying that you are a huckster, but any one that pumps up a product for profit the way sinusbuster.com does is going to fall under a lot of suspicion.

Quote:
A Pepper A Day Keeps The Migraines Away....and Much More!

Self defense instructor discovers the natural ingredient in defensive pepper spray will stop more than just criminals -- it also stops migraines and chronic sinus problems. A migraine sufferer for 15 years, Wayne Perry discovered his own breakthrough cure, and it was completely by accident!

Nearly 60 million Americans suffer from chronic sinus infections and congestion. Another 20 million suffer from headaches of all kinds, but one long time migraine sufferer accidentally discovered his own cure. He invented the first and only anti-migraine nasal spray to contain all natural hot pepper extract. That's right, pepper up your nose, and it works like nothing else. This formula is all natural, non-addictive, and non-caustic. It's a modern day miracle cure!

Wayne Perry was a nationally recognized self defense instructor who appeared on shows such as Oprah Winfrey and Montel Williams throughout the 1990s. One of his specialties for the television circuit was to volunteer for live self defense pepper spray demonstrations to promote the effectiveness of defensive pepper spray. Once while preparing to be sprayed for a local newscast, Wayne got one of his deadly cluster headaches. Only minutes away from the live spray demonstration, Wayne knew the show had to go -- so he followed through, and allowed the reporter to spray him directly in the face. Almost instantly, Perry realized his headache had disappeared, and aside from the effects of the pepper spray, he felt better than he had in days.

Perry knew the headache busting secret was in the all natural extract derived from hot pepper plants (capsicum). Capsicum is a natural resin - the key ingredient that puts the "Hot" in hot peppers. His expertise with self defense pepper sprays allowed Perry access to pure natural capsicum from many varieties of exotic pepper plants.

Perry spent the next two years developing an all natural nasal spray using capsicum as an active ingredient to relieve sinus congestion, allergies, migraines, cluster headaches, chronic sinus headaches and infections. After years of living with chronic headaches, and trying all the homemade remedies proposed by many different doctors, Perry was able to combine the most effective all natural ingredients to create The SINUS BUSTER - a true breakthrough cure for migraine and cluster headaches.

After years of visiting doctors, and taking all kinds of prescribed medications with only minimal relief, Wayne was finally able to toss out all his medications thanks to his own cure. Perry hasn't had a cluster headache, or chronic sinus congestion in three years since he started using this formula. And he's not the only one.

Perry has been selling his anti-migraine spray locally to people with severe chronic sinus and headache conditions, and the results have been incredible. Little by little, his unique nasal spray has grown into a small thriving business. As people experience migraine and sinus relief for the first time in their lives, they spread the word to friends and family.

The SINUS BUSTER has already built quite a following on it's own merits because this is the first real cure for chronic sinus and headache sufferers. Millions of migraine and sinus sufferers out there want to know about this breakthrough product, and now we're launching a brand new website at:(www.sinusbuster.com)

There are many millions of folks out there who have been diagnosed with cluster headaches, migraines, and chronic sinusitis, but still have not found true relief. This product can change their lives forever, and it's a story that needs to get out. Interested migraine and sinus sufferers can learn more about the magic of capsicum by visiting www.sinusbuster.com

For Media Use: We can supply product samples and literature to accredited media organizations including webmasters. We can also supply media outlets with videos of Wayne being sprayed with defensive pepper spray, and photos of the same.

Your press release seems to use the terms cluster and migraine interchangeably.

Clusters, Migraines, Sinus, PMS and Menopause ... Is there any type of headache your spray doesn't cure?

New Migraine Nasal Spray Also Fights Hormonal & Menstrual Headaches

Released by:Ashtar International

Summary:
Finally there\'s true relief for the millions of women who suffer from hormonal headaches. For young women, it happens before and during their menstrual cycle. For older women, it happens as they enter menopause.

Website:
http://www.sinusbuster.com

For_Immediate_Release:
Millions of women suffer from chronic hormonal headaches. These can happen to younger women before and during their menstrual cycle, and to older women who’ve entered menopause. The pain is excruciating just like any other migraine, but these headaches are caused by hormonal changes instead of environmental factors.
Of course products such as Midol have been used for many years by women seeking relief from the side effects of menstruation. In essence, these menstrual relief products are nothing more than a basic pain reliever with a little added caffeine. These products can be effective to a point, but there’s never been any menstrual relief product that could stop a full blown hormonal migraine – until now!
It’s called, “The SINUS BUSTER”, and it’s the first and only nasal spray made with oleoresin capsicum (the natural extract from hot pepper plants). The active ingredient in oleoresin capsicum is capsaicin, the natural chemical that puts the “HOT” in hot peppers. The capsicum in The SINUS BUSTER formula instantly overpowers headaches, and it relieves chronic sinus symptoms as well. It’s truly the first effective migraine reliever, and it works almost instantly.
Although The SINUS BUSTER was designed for chronic sufferers of migraine & cluster headaches, many women who’ve used this product claim it totally relieved their menstrual headaches. Furthermore, many women found that this unique spray also helps the other symptoms associated with PMS and menstrual cycles. It seems that when The SINUS BUSTER is used in small daily doses throughout a woman’s menstruation period, it can actually prevent the headaches and pain associated with menstruation.
For women entering menopause, The SINUS BUSTER not only relieves hormonal headaches, but it also clears the head of that “fuzzy feeling” which can accompany female hormonal changes. This is a product that all women owe it to themselves to try it’s the first and only capsicum based nasal spray on the market.
Aside from relieving headaches and sinus symptoms, capsicum has been proven to aid in cardiovascular health, pain control, and treating mouth sores in cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. Now it seems capsicum can also help women with pre-menstrual syndrome and menopause. This is a true breakthrough for treating hormonal migraines. Learn more about the magic of capsicum and The SINUS BUSTER on the web at: www.sinusbuster.com

On the website, he also claims to have been a frequent guest of Oprah Winfrey.  No mention of him on Oprah.com, though.  Maybe getting tickets to be in the studio audience qualifies him as a guest.

Maybe they should put us on Oprah!  Now that would be an interesting show.  All of us with anywhere from a KIP 7 to a KIP 10.  Talk about reality TV!

The website also has this statement:

"For the past 15 years I’ve suffered from a severe form of migraine known as a “cluster headache”."

This is not very helpful.  We all know people who have migraines and we all know CH is not a type of migraine.  This joker apparently doesn't.

During my last cluster, I was involved in a clinical trial for pepper spray at the California Headache Clinic with Dr. David Kudrow (a second generation CH specialist, and, coincidentally, Lisa Kudrow's brother).  The spray was like taking mace in the nostrils, but it was a more welcome pain than a CH and eventually tolerable.  Anyhow, the trial did seem to help.  It was, by far, the shortest cluster I've had (3 1/2 weeks) and the headaches were not nearly as intense.  In fact, this is my first post because I was looking to find a way to get pepper spray since I'm starting a new cluster and am no longer eligible for the trial (you can only do it once).

That said, this product that is being offered is NOT the one that I was taking and sounds iffy.  I will look elsewhere for a remedy.  For more info on the trial I was involved with, check this government site here:
http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct/show/NCT00069082?order=1

In sum, this guy sounds like a salesman and after checking the site, the product sounds bogus, but don't completely dismiss pepper spray as a therapy.  I am incredibly grateful to have been involved in the study.

Wow Wetdog, it is nice when someone can share something that they are not attempting to sell.  I don't know where you can get any pepper spray, but I am willing to try anything, except for this crap people come in here attempting to sell.

Thanks for the nice reply.  This is my first time on this site (after 13 years of suffering) and after reading some posts, I really want to try this mushroom business!  And not for the recreational side effects, of course.  I want to kick this hulking oxygen tank and these syringes to the curb!  Verapamil didn't do much for me except constipate me.  Predisone's side effects worry me.  Ergotomine made me sick.  Maybe the shroom and pepper spray combo is the all-natural, effective way to go.  Hm.  Will have to look into this...

All right, boys and girls:

I went to Cost Plus and bought an ounce of ground cayenne pepper, which is a fairly common capsaicin source.  I boiled it in about a half a cup of water in a small saucepan for five to ten minutes (it reduces by 1/3 or so), added 1/4 teaspoon of salt in an attempt to make it isotonic, then filtered it through a coffee filter.

I then emptied a saline nasal spray bottle (Target, $1.79) and then sucked up the pepper extract into the bottle and squirted a brief spray in each nostril.  In the trial, we were to do one spray in each nostril per day.

While I don't know how close my recipe was to the Civamide I used in the trial, the searing, biting sting in my sinuses was identical.  I will post my progress with this homemade treatment as it goes on.  I make no promises other than it hurts like hell the first few days.

I am sorry. The post was not from Wayne Perry. I am a local customer and friend who thought he was helping the sinus buster cause, but wayne was pissed at me when I told him I posted this. I make nothing off the product. I'm just an idiot.  I was wrong, but only out of stupidity. The stuff really does help my headaches.

Anyway wayne was very upset with me, and he told me to post this apology. He also said the first 10 people to email him referring to this message board and giving their mailing address can have a free sample sent to them.

This way ten of you can evaluate the spray. He doesn't want any of you thinking he's a huckster. He also said he'd like his web address taken off my post which I will do if I can. If you guys want to try it let me know with your posts. Otherwise i won't publish his email address because it's based at his website which I will not promote again. i am sorry truly "as one cluster victim to another" please forgive me.

Once again I'm sorry for my first post, but I was just excited to see something I was involved in early on finally start getting marketed. I wasn't making any money off it. I swear.

You know, I've read that vascular headache sufferers are supposed to be more intelligent.  Do you think they just say that to make us feel better about ourselves?

So the combination of mushrooms and hot peppers has not yielded the miraculous results I had hoped for.  Yesterday, within four hours of taking the mushrooms, I had a mild headache (a 3, maybe?).  Last night I woke up four times with headaches, but nothing more than a 5 - not enough pain for an injection but enough frequency to go through 1/3 tank of oxygen.

I'm still going to continue the pepper treatment - the headaches over the past couple days have been milder in intensity.  Maybe it's because of the capsaicin, but it's tough to say definitively.  It's only been four days of pepper treatment and it's supposed to take a week before effects are seen, so we'll see what happens.  For those interested, here's some research that was done 10 years ago that supports my previous experience (of milder headaches) with capsaicin spray:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed &list_uids=8495452&dopt=Abstract

Anyhow, am looking forward to a good night's sleep soon.  If anything good happens from the pepper spray, I'll report it.  Thanks to all for their supportive messages.  I really appreciate this site.  My Target stock just went up .05% just from the sale of nasal spray bottles.

When I started taking melatonin, I still had some mild headaches for a couple of weeks.  For a while, I even kept waking up at 2:30 a.m. (my night-time CH appointment) with that funny thick-headed feeling I get when my headaches start, but without any pain at all.

Maybe some other people who have found successful prophylactic medication have had the same experience with the CH tapering off in intensity and then frequency rather than just disappearing?

I hope the pepper spray works for you!
