Title: Relief!?!?!
Post by JDH on Jan 1st, 2003, 9:46pm
I've been getting CH's for over 17 years now and I've  been  in this current cycle for about four months.
After way too many sleepless nights with my Imitrex shots and inhalers, a Dr who has been seeing me as part of a CH study I participated in prescribed Verapamil 240mg, Prednisone 20mg (starting at 3 daily for 3 days and then decreasing) and oxygen.
The first night I started the meds I slept for 8 beautiful uninterupted hours which was a welcome break from my usual 2:00 am wakeup call...don't know if the Pred caused that or what but it sure was nice.
The second night I got an early visit from the beast at about 9:30 but was able to abort it with the oxyen in less than 5 minutes which was pretty amzing to me since this is my first time using the o2.
And this will be night number three...fingers are crossed that I may be breaking this awful way to live. :-/

JDH - thats the road I went down. The Verap will hold the beast at bay and the O2 will knock his ass out. I'm really glad to hear its working for you.
PFDANs to ya

JD,
Beauty! Keep following the directions on the box. Take ALL pills at the proper time. O2 is blessed. I'm with Domm.......I had Stellar success on your med schedule (except for the Pred.) It really works!

It's great your doctor is getting hip to Ch, but it's amazing that it still takes a "Study" to get you on these basic meds. If you're showing improvement already, you stand every chance of controling this cycle. Best of Luck!
Bye the by, you really shouldn't wander to far without an Imitrex in your pocket just yet. Don't want to be too cocky, eh??!!<G>

Long Live O2,
RJ

My third PF night in a row!!!
So far so good...life is starting to seem enjoyable again.
It's so good to FINALLY start feeling somewhat normal again.
Thanks for the input guys and don't worry RJ, I'm not about to get cocky when dealing with the beast, I've learned from experience to NEVER count him out.
Imitrex, I won't leave home w/out it!
PFDAN's to all! ;)
