maxalt making you sleepy?

So far the only med which has been able to help with my Ch attacks is maxalt.

But lately it has been making me sleepy. In I-have-to-go-to-sleep-right-this-minute kind of way. And it's very distracting indeed when it happends during lectures! I can barely keep my eyes open!

If I am at home, if I go to sleep, that's it. I'll wake up in the morning...

Has somebody else experienced the same? What could I do? Any tips?

I am going to bring this up when I'm seeing my neuro in November...

Best wishes & PFdays,

Yes it does make me sleepy and am lucky if the CH strikes me at night so that it does not interfer with day time events.  I do wish some one would let us know something about this affect with maxalt. I would like to know also. When you find out something please let me know. Lots of smiles and pain free days to you.

Hi Poke,

once I'll meet my neuro, I'll ask him. But it'll take some time, because my appointment is in the end of November!

What are some possible side effects of Maxalt? (This is NOT a complete list of side effects reported with Maxalt. Your health care provider can discuss with you a more complete list of side effects.)

Some signs of rare but serious side effects include:

Pain, pressure or tightness in the chest or throat. If severe, or does not go away, call your health care provider right away. If this happens at all, discuss with your health care provider before taking any more Maxalt.
Rarely, people have a serious allergic reaction to Maxalt. This could cause shortness of breath, wheeziness, heart throbbing, swelling of eyelids, face, or lips, or a skin rash, lumps or hives. If this happens, tell your health care provider right away.
Other side effects may include:

Chest heaviness, or pressure
Tiredness
Dizziness
Sleepiness
