Title: psylicybin(sp?) availability
Post by inyoureye on Nov 2nd, 2004, 6:21am
I am interested in trying the shroom treatment but I'm pretty sure that the kid I got them from in college isn't in business anymore.  Is there a legal way to obtain these???
I notice that the spores are available in high times mag which can be grown in a closet but the whole "guniea pig" thing with the first batch would scare me.
Where do you folks who use this treatment obtain your meds?  Is it a "find on the street" thing or is there a route you could suggest?    [smiley=huh.gif]
THanks

In the united states, No.

That's the way most Ch'ers do it...well, minus the high times part.  There are websites that sell spores.  The spores are legal in most of the US.  It's illegal, however to use those spores to grow shrooms.  You know the risks and benefits.

I too am on a shroom hunt. Went out in my friends cow pasture just last night and gathered some, but none turned blue... My brother-in-law used to do them and I have him walking through the TX pastures for me. If you go to the shroomery sites, it gives the instructions for spore purchases, a risk that only involves the loss of 47 pounds (about $40). That's 4 Imetrex pills - worth the gamble to me and is probably my next step.

I have quite the green thumb, I just never realized that the ads I've seen for spores were such a "sure thing".  Always wondered about origin, age, etc.  Never wanted to be the 1st one to try them but..........I have about 2 weeks to go on the current crop in the closet (no comment) and then I will definately be switching to the boomers!  THanks everyone, I'll keep you in the loop as to my results.

Did the shrom thing.  Mail ordered them from a site here in the US.  All very discreet. It sounds much harder to do than it actually is.

Best of luck

IndianaJohn, you are correct. The instructions on how to grow them make it seem a much more complex thing than it really is. I don't exaggerate when I say a bright ten year old could grow a fine batch as a science project for school.

Those who write the grow guides explain in great detail what to do in order to make it as clear as possible and reduce the chances of failure. Because of this detail, someone casually reading all those words might get the impression it is difficult. Nothing could be further from the truth. The most complex part (and it's not really complex at all) is the preparation of the jars in which the mushrooms will sprout. And these days it's possible to eliminate even that part by buying pre-mixed "Myco-Bags" where the work has already been done for you. Just introduce the spores into the bag, put them in a place where the temperature is in the right range, and wait a month to six weeks.

Piece of cake.

I've got a friend that I've been buying shrooms from for mearly recreational purposes. I didn't discover that it was an actuall treatment till just recently. I guess it doesn't work for me since I've taken shrooms about 4 times in the last month, but I hear you are supposed to take it at the beginning of the cycle, and I have not had the chance to do that. There is always next year!

It works for many in the middle of a cycle also. It would be interesting and valuable to hear what medications you may also be using to treat your clusters, how often and when in relation to the doses of shrooms. Have you noticed any change in your headaches during the last month. Better, worse, fewer, more, intensity levels etc.
Also what level of trip you reach during your recreational dose. 1, 2, 3.. ?

Yeah it might be worth qualifying that statement.  Especially important is which medications (if any) that you were taking at the time.

It's also worth telling us a little more about your headaches.
