Hi Cavegirl!
How are you BOTH doing? LIfe is improving a bit for you I hope  Smiley Did you ask about O2 at all? That really is my top recommendation btw.. anyway to your imigran tip.

Look at the buttons on the left, one is marked Imitrex Tip (Imitrex is the US name for Imigran injections) That should give you all you need but if you aren't sure shout.. you don't want to waste it if you aren't happy about what you're doing!

Hi cavegirl,
Yes, lots of us get 2 or more uses out of a dose.  It sounds like you have the statdose.  You have to rip it open and get the glass thing that is inside.  The Imitrex tip to the left can give more info on how to do this.
rather than getting the statdose, i just get vials of it, and use insulin syrenges.  That way I can measure out exactly what i need, and leave the rest in the vial.
If you are not squeemish, you can just tear apart the statdose thing, and use a Qtip as the plunger.  That needle is really big though......its really scary.  I hate needles
It figures the only relief from my worst nightmare is my worst fear.....needles.
Murphy's law, i guess
PF wishes to Matt

Hiya Helen,
We both good - injections came at exactly the right time for us!!!!  He has asked for oxygen I think and like everyone says, once the GP realises how much cheaper it will be I'm sure he'll be forthcoming with it!!

I looked at them last night & Just spoke to Matt on phone, there's only one button it's like a tiny pen thing and you push the cartridge up into it - it seems to be totally enclosed in this plastic thing??  He was given a different pen initially - a bigger one - but it was the wrong one for those cartridges.  They all came in boxes labelled Immigran or Sumatriptan not Imitrex so maybe they're a different type of pen or somethin??

Hope you are as ok as you can be, how you doin???

Hey BMonee, Thanks for that - sounds like a little brute force is needed!!!

We were thinkin thats maybe wot you did unless you had a different type, I think he was just worried in case he broke it and tipped it all over the carpet or sumthin!!!!

Sorry about the needle thing - I can understand you totally on that one I have a serious needle phobia,

PF & best wishes

Imigran, Imitrex and Sumatriptan Succinate are all one and the same.
This is what mine look like

I've got pictures of CD cylinders with integral regulators if and when we get to the O2 prescribing stage!

Yeah thats it that looks like the one other than its a bit squarer and different colour - so do you do the same as BMonee and get the meds out of the cartridge?  Matt looked but couldn't see two buttons only one?  Next time he's over (working up north at mo) maybe we could put a pic of his on here (How did you do that???)

Lots luv Sal 'n' Matt

Ps can't wait for O2 scrip, it was so nice to see him with a real smile on his face when he got these jabs, a real smile it was so so nice

Hi Sal,
My case probably is old now - I just get the little insert refills rather than the whole box each time now.
I don't spilt my doses simply because I use O2 more than anything else. I use imi only when I can't cope anymore so splitting doses isn't practical for me

I'll im you on how to post pics!
Take care
Helen

Yeah, that imitrex is some amazing stuff.  Mine do look the same.  I only got 1 statdose thing, all the rest has been with vials.  That insulin needle is much shorter and has a smaller gauge than the needle that comes in the statdose.  I squirted the statdose into an empty vial i had.
That glass inside the statdose is pretty thick, and it also is sealed inside there, so it wont spill.
