Title: Anyone used O2 concentrators???
Post by Night_Zombie on Feb 3rd, 2005, 5:32am
Was given O2 last week along with nose prongs, I know now they are no good at all, also O2 was wrong, it only gives out 5ltr(its better to stick head out window) Anyway went back to doc and was told he will get me yet again another concentrator and get them joined together so i will get 10ltr, would this work????
I now have the mask but no good with No O2.
I really think my doc is a closet sadist[smiley=hammer.gif]
any help would be great. Thanks.

I believe the general consensus is 15lpm.

Interesting thought though.... hooking up multiple units in parallel.

A quick scan of eBay shows o2 concentrators going for $250.  So theoretically a $750 investment would remove the o2 tank dependency.  A bargain hunter could get 3 for perhaps $450 total.

I always thought o2 concentrators were a big ticket item.  Not so.

Just got the concentrators hooked up together and not bad at all, mabye others could look into it. :) you would really need the 3.
Let the O2 begin ;;D

I've been checking ebay occasionaly to see if I could get a concentrator or maybe 2 to hook in series to eliminate the cylinder need.  2 - 5 litre machines could provide 10lpm together, which is usually all I need to abort.  The only thing I'm concerned about is most machines at higher flow rates provide a lower concentration of O2, usually around 90-92%  Please keep us up to date on how the setup is working for you Night Zombie.

I have chronic cluster headaches and have used oxygen.  The concentrator sucks.  You need the largest pure oxygen tank you can get delivered to you house.  Use is at the highest setting for about 10-15 minutes at a time.  I'm no doctor, just know from experience.

Get a pair of big garbage bags... such as 40 gallon ones.
Inflate them using the concentrator.
Tie them off.

Inhale from them next time you are hit.

Each bag should hold about 8min of o2 after you count lost volume due to tying them off.

/filled my stupid idea quota for the day
//tried it once at a relatives house... kinda worked
///have someone take pictures of you if you try this

Thanks for the wonderfull idea!!!!!!
Could you not do it again and take picks and post them on the site? sure, it would do me more good looking at that than trying to suck O2 out of my concentrator [smiley=laugh.gif]  [smiley=biggrin.gif]
