Largactil = chlorpromazine!

chlorpromazine = thorazine!
Wouldn't be my 1st choice. Or the 2nd, 3rd or 40th.

Good luck with the induced lobotomy,
RJ

How do you mean induced labotomy?
I don't really know much about it and was just wondering if anyone knew much about it.

"The blunting of conscious motivation, and the inability to solve problems under the influence of chlorpromazine (Thorazine) resembles nothing so much as the effects of frontal lobotomy. . ." (http://www.sntp.net/drugs/thorazine.htm)

Just wanted to add that chlorpromazine is an extremely dangerous drug that could cause life-long serious side effects (tardive dyskinesia or extrapyramidal symptoms). These are uncontrollable involuntary movements especially in the face and neck. This drug is no longer a first line drug even for schizophrenia due to this problem. I'm not trying to scare you. It's not likely if taken for a short time.

One other question.. Do you trust this doctor? This could be an indication that he thinks the headaches are psychosomatic or more bluntly, he thinks you're crazy.

I'd also like to raise the possibility that he said or meant lamictal

I dont really trust this Doc, no he did say this drug and i got him to write it down for me, No he knowes the pain is very real, He's been with me when I have had a h/a.
He says that as I have tried Steroids and a few other thing, that if the lithium wont work then nothing will,I know this is so not true and I know I have a few other things I can try,I also dont know how many other c/h people he see's,not too many I bet ::)
Thanks anyway for giving me some more reason to think I may be crazy,Its hard enough to tell myself Im not,and never have been,mind you If I go on like this for much longer who knows [smiley=gocrazy.gif] ;;D

Doh! No no no. That's not what I was saying. I was saying maybe he thought you were crazy, not that maybe you are crazy. It's just that many people think that it's mind over matter. My mother insisted that stress caused my headaches to the point that I told her we could never discuss the headaches again. (It was stressing me out) Anyway, sorry, I was way off.  :-[  Just grabbing at straws why someone would ever want to try largactil on clusters.

I think we need this doctor's name and need a list of doctors to AVOID, next to the list of the good doctors.

Maybe a list of docs. to educate instead of avoid.

A project for the OUCH chapters? We send in names, they mail out "info" packets? Hmmm...

edited to add: my neuro, while good and even familiar with CH...actually asks me what works for people here. He's sincerely interested in helping me to the point of asking for the address of this website!

Ask him for verapamil 240 x 2, can go up from there. this is a well know drug used in combo with lithuim. Lithobid has alwas worked better for me than plain old lithium, if you can get it over there.
