Title: life changing moment-god bless O2 Post by rocky on Sep 15th, 2005, 2:05pm i've been monitoring this board [along with my canadian site] for the past year ever since my first 6 week CH episode ended. i was hoping that a cycle may never return but at the begining of aug. the beast suddenly returned with a vengence. not suicidal but 1-3/day of KIP 6-8. at the end of my last cycle i had my gp read some the relevant info. from this board re. Imitrex, oxygen etc. as an abortive. he gave me standing Rx's for both but i only filled the one for trex nasal spray at the begining of this current cycle, thinking that it would hopefully not last that long[stupid me]. finally yesterday i decided to set up an oxygen supply with my local medical gas supplier[praxair] and carted home a regulator,e-tank[25 cu. ft.] and non rebreather mask. within 3 hrs. i got hit and started to fumble with everything. within 20 breaths my life changed and i realized that this site had saved me. the pain just drifted away and after 7-10 mins. at 12 lpm i was PF for the first time in about 200 episdes,[why didn't i do this before?] the same result for every episode since[thank god!] FYI- my regulator was $100 [can.] and the e cylinders cost $24 to refill[i'll get about 6 headaches from one] so i'll probably go to the larger size for home and carry an e cylinder in the car. the info. on this site is invaluable and thanks for all those informative posts. the only thing i want now is one of those Mr Happy masks. O2 rocks and no side affects. [smiley=laugh.gif] |

Title: Re: life changing moment-god bless O2 Post by LeLimey on Sep 15th, 2005, 2:16pm With the clustermasx I can abort in five to ten minutes.. they are incredible! I can't recommend them enough! I didn't think anything could improve on o2 and the results I was getting with a non rebreather mask but not having to hold it on with two hands, not holding it so tight it hurts your face aferwards and not having any leaks makes a HUGE difference! Add to that the huge resevoir bag that just lets you keep breathing and its just awesome! |
