Title: Sansert
Post by maynard on Sep 27th, 2005, 5:29pm
I have suffered with clusters for 15 years. Sansert worked great for me and last year I had to start taking Methergene because I could not get sansert anywhere. Does anyone know where I can get it?

I was wondering about sansert - why did they US stop selling it?

My neuro asked me, when looking at my med list, where I got sansert ... I couldnt understand what he meant so I told him that I got it from a neurologist and picked it up at a pharmacy... he then looked at me funny and told me that they dont sell it in the US anymore... he said that you have to get in Canada...

Sorry that is off the question but found it interesting.. the only other name that I know for it is methysergide maleate - if you type it into a search engine than I am sure that places where you can get it will pop up... hope that this helps some...

good luck
Jill

It's called a profit margin.
The cost per user ratiio was less than 40,000:1.
There were some long term usage side effects.
It's related to LSD, and therefore, non-acceptable to Republicans and Methodists.
Who cares if it worked.

I used Sansert for several years but was forced to find other preventatives as it finally became almost impossible to find anywhere in the US. While it was available, it worked fairly well during more than 50% of cycles.

Sansert has a few potentially nasty side effects one of which is causing "retroperitoneal fibrosis" which in laymens terms is scar tissue around the kidneys. Other (less frequent) side effects include causing scar tissue around the heart or lungs. In many cases, these effects, although somewhat rare, are irreversible and can lead to more serious health problems.

Now I know why the last time I visited my aunt and uncle in Ohio and brought along a six pack of beer I was told I was no longer welcome in their home. [smiley=huh.gif]

The only things not acceptable to Republicans are Democrats and Catholics!

Vig is correct. If you can find a real pharmacy near you, Sansert can be made. Target and Walmart won't do it.....they are nothing but pill counters.

If you can't find anything near you...email me and I'll give you the name of the local pharmacy I use when I need the stuff.

If one takes Sansert for less than 6 months at time, the side effects are rare indeed. Make no mistake it's nasty stuff, but it pulled me out of CH hell.....

Thats funny you said that because when I would initially take it I would feel that sensation.

I had success with it, that kinda sucks.

Generic name is Methysergide. (Just say "methysergide-eh?" if you talk to a Canadian pharmacy.)
