Title: GOT OXYGEN?
Post by jocojo on Sep 29th, 2005, 6:49am
Thanks to this website I came accross the oxygen solution.  Because I needed a prescription for it and since I am a child of the 60's I thought I would have to be sneaky and somehow not tell anyone the truth.  After consulting with my doctor in a sort of sneaky way he came out and said that I should try oxygen for my CH.  I was very impressed that this came out of him and felt relieve that I would not have to lie to get a prescription.  Then I went to the oxygen store and there also I safeguarded the reason why I was using oxygen afraid that they would refuse to sell me the oxygen.  After looking at the prescription the lady asked me if I was using oxygen for CH and I said yes.  Come to find out that they have lots of people using it including one employee.

I have suffered CH since I was a preteen with virtually no remission (did I say I was a child of the 60's).  My mother gets them as well and because she had been checked out by a Dr. we simply decided that this was genetic and simply deal with it.  I use ice and lots of aspirin and tylenol.

At first I felt some relieve with oxygen then it occured to me to use it without a CH and so every evening before going to bed I have used the oxygen for 15 minutes and for the first time ever I have not suffered a CH in a week or so.  I have felt some symptoms like a CH is coming on but I turn to my oxygen and then is gone in 5-10 minutes.

Thank you for the oxygen advise I feel better than ever!! ;;D

Hello jocojo!
Nice to meet you  :) I'm so glad you have found O2 and that its helping you. Your post raised some interesting points for me and one worrying one. I too am a mother who has CH with a son suffering CH so I feel alot of empathy with your poor mum. You should get her to come along to this site too.
My concern is over you using O2 without actually being hit.
O2 is a vasoconstrictor. When you use it without your blood vessels being dilated in an attack it could potentially be quite dangerous. Your a big guy and I'm not telling you what to do but I just wanted to make you aware of that!

Stay in touch, there are lots of other treatments here you might find useful so keep reading and ask all the questions you want!
Let us know how you are doing okay?
Regards
Helen

Ohhhhh.....Horsehockey, Helen. Let jojo test drive to his hearts content.
It's no more dangerous than dihydrogen monoxide or.....say.....table salt.

You want dangerous, try fooling around with a gas grill or a dull knife. Not to mention a pack of filthy smokes.

A matter of perspective.

Sorry Hap but that was what I was told! If I'm wrong I apologise.

Ok, now you had me all scare running around thinking this is it "I got the big one".  In fact this morning I choose to lay of the souce for a while.  What is it: good, bad or indifferent?

Thanks [smiley=huh.gif]

Oxygen used properly is a godsend.  It would take a big sumbich to take my tank away from me.

Oxygen used at too high a flow rate for too long a time is dangerous.  It can cause scarring of the lungs and other problems.  Do google searches for oxygen toxicity and oxygen poisoning.

As with any advice you read on this or any other website, consult your doctor and check things out for yourself.

Agree with Gator on the dangers.

Using it without being hit could make the effect less when you REALLY need it, just my humble opinion...
