Title: Histamine Desensitization again
Post by unsolved1 on Nov 17th, 2005, 6:15pm
I just finished another round of Histamine. This time we did it slower, only getting 2 IV bags per day. THe headaches have stopped once again. I haven't reached for the Trex in about 10 days. All is well. I hope this last for a long time !!  :D

Pain Free is nice

I just wish it would last forever, Michael. I'm glad you're getting another break, though. Breaks are GOOD.
Besides the amount of time it takes, what are the downsides to this treatment? Side effects, any long term risks? I'm curious...
hugs, nani

The time is the only downside that I know of. Side effects include a stuffy nose. I haven't had any other side effects or long term risks besides pain relief.

I'm hoping that this will stop my clusters for at least 2 months.  :D

PF Wishes everyone

Are you getting your histamine treatment at the Diamond Headache Clinic in Chicago?  Wherever you are getting it, how many times a year do you have to go?  Good luck, I hope that your PF time lasts long!

I did the Histamine treatment the first time at Diamond, now I do it at my local hospital. I go several times a year. So far its lasted between 2 and 9 weeks at a time.

How long have you been doing this?  Is it a treatment recognized by insurance companies?

Wow, up to nine weeks...Yippee!  *crosses fingers*  Hope forever!

I've been doing this since October of last year. My insurance pays for it everytime I need it. I've heard of others who said there insurance wouldn't pay though.
