Title: acupuncture
Post by Herwig on Nov 20th, 2005, 2:51pm
Hi all...

I posted allready a topic on the other board and got some nice feedback allready.

But still willing to hear even more opinions about acupuncture.

I had 2 sessions of acupuncture in the last 10 days. Every 48 hrs after a session I got hit more frequent then ever.

There is a 3th session planned for coming friday, but I seriously consider canceling it because of my bad experience.

Could the ones that also had experience with acupuncture please let me know their experiences ??

However I don't believe in cures by this, your experience might motivate me to stop or go on with it.

Thanks for replying.

Have good sleeps and PF days.

I don't believe in it, thru my experiences with it. Had hundreds of needles over months of sessions. (Not for CH.) Done by a guy from China that is an instructor along with teaching interns. Recommended by a close friend that believes in homeopathic medicine. Reliable? Credible? Competent? How should I know, no matter what certificates are on the wall. He pinpointed the ki restriction on the 1st/2nd vertebrae. 12 weekly sessions, hundreds of dollars, and no improvement.

A month later the neurosurgeon did a laminectomy on the 4th/5th vertebrae, and everything was fine the next day. Granted, not CH, but the acupuncture approach rates right up there with sticking pins in dolls and blind faith in my book.

I gave it an honest shot.

Been there. Done that. Got the T-Shirt.

Trying to sell the T-Shirt to recoup some of the money I wasted.

There are accupuncturists (is that a word?) that use a lazer instead of needles. It's used to stop smoking.

Maybe a lazer to the eyeball would help with clusters.

Hell, I don't know.

You try it a report back.

Thanks for the feedback people.

I HAD MY FIRST PF NIGHT last night!!

I strongly doubt it is because of the acupuncture but I have a strong feeling I am getting to the end of my cluster now.

My body feels very different versus yesterday, maybe because I slept well..hell do I know ??  Anyway, it feels good.

Definitely convinced to cancel appointment with acupuncturist this week.

Will keep you posted on my evolution (one battle doesn't make me win the war of course).

Thanks for the support. Keep PF.

Herwig, you mention chiropractic treatment as well in your other thread.

Quite a few of us went both routes in the beginning to no avail.

It might release some tension in your neck and shoulders but it seem to increase the CH frequency and pain - in my case for what it is worth.

Saw on the Dutch chat site that some people are trying both methods but they also don't seem to have any possitive results.

Dear Jasmyn,

Chiropractic did quite some miracles for me in the past 5 years.  It even cut of some cycles within 24 hrs.

Acupuncture on the contrary didn't convince me so far.

I keep you informed about any outcome tho..

Thanks for replying.

Dear Vig,

In the past my chiropracticer (we call it Ostheopate here) cracked my back and neck when I was in the beginning of a cycle.
It stopped a cycle 3 times the day after, after that I was painfree for several months untill the next cycle came up.

Only this last time I've been with him a few times and he could cut the cycle twice for a few days. But the last time it didn't do nothing. That's why I tried accupuncture combined with it, but the effect was worse.

It's really worth trying as there are no chemicals involved and it is affordable (35 Euro's over here).

Hope this answers yr. question?

PF days!
