My promotion starts a week from today.  I'm excited, to say the least.  To celebrate the occasion, and to try something totally new and a bit scary for me, I've signed up for 2 classes.  Bollywood and Belly Dancing.  

A co-worker told me about it this afternoon, as they are running a 2 classes for the price of one special, and so I'll be learning Bollywood on Monday nights, and Bellydancing on Wednesday nights.  Great workouts.  I think with Shelly going too, that I'll have less incentive to chicken out.  And my first class is TONIGHT.  

Talk about a little impulsive, but hey...it's life and it's meant to be lived.  And I'm planning on LIVING IT.

What is Bollywood dancing?


Bollywood dancing is a commercial name for modern Indian dancing. It's a combination of classical Indian dance (which is the base), folk dancing such as Bhangra and sometimes has a Latino and Arabic influence. It's fun and very expressive and there's a lot of deep meaning behind music in the films. You can actually express what the music means, through the graceful movements of the body.

I'm hoping that this will spur me on to getting into better shape, and maybe even motivate me to finally quit smoking once and for all.

Now I just have to hope that the arthritis in my spine isn't so bad that I can't get my hips to move the way they'll need to.   :-/
