Title: The difference between my son and my daughter LOL
Post by PollyPocket on Jun 17th, 2008 at 12:28pm
I got these messages from my kids on  my myspace page. Both kids are going again this year on the mission trip to Eleuthra, Bahamas.
How do I say this...lemme think........ perspectives are surely different ROFLMAO.

From Harry:
For those of you who don't know...

...I'm totally not in the country at the moment. Specifically, I'm at the airport in Nassau, which is the capital of the Bahamas. We'll be leaving via small plane to the island of Eleuthera, where we'll be staying for the next week. Long story short, I should be back around the 25th. I currently have no cell phone signal, and can't guarantee internet so... You may or may not be able to contact me. Maybe maybe not and maybe not maybe.

For those of you who do, I ask that you pray for us down here. I'm here with my church to do ministry work on Eleuthera. Yes, it's gorgeous. Yes, it's going to be amazing. But most importantly I'm here to do God's work. I ask that those of you who do pray, ask for us to stay on track, and to hold unwaveringly to God's will here on this island.

...For those of you who don't, ask me about it some time. I'd love to tell ya.

Awwww, Mom is so proud of her son  :)

And then there is Hannah. My Hannah. Wonder where she gets it from  ::)

in nassau, waiting in the airport, and...
..one of the cafeteria staff here just took an uuber huge doo-doo in the b.r.,she was in the stall moaning, "oh, jesus..." and then came the splash. it was RANK, woman, let me TELL you.... she sprayed so much lysol i feel sanitary. and then she told me not to eat the tuna and grits. whoa. i totally just ate cafeteria food.

love you ! see ya in a week!

(Mom is laughing so hard she's cryin'!) [smiley=crackup.gif]

If I was single I would ask you to introduce me to your daughter. She sounds like a hoot.

Perspectives!

Wow, that is priceless.
Keep those e-mails and read them outloud at the reception when each gets married. It will bring down the house.

I agree. Nassau, well, is a little laid back...some may say too laid back.
One time I flew from DC to Nassau with a fugitive handcuffed and shackeld accross the isle from our seats. Lucky bastard got to fly first class for free but I had to pay!   ;) When we landed, the authorities in Nassau held us on the plane until they had him in the armored vehicle. And BTW, the plane was aurround by a swat team with M-16's locked and loaded!
Jen-your children are wonderful! I love both perspectives; one is pragmatic and the other is humorous.

The most memorable flight I had on Bahamas air was delayed for 4 hrs while they tried to round up a pilot that wasn't drunk.  Finally got to the out islands on the 3rd pilot.  LOL.

Flights to Eluthra are much better Jen! ;)

Great way to begin a day, Jenn...I'm still chuckling!
Your son....a  mission to serve the Lord.............and perhaps meet some new "babeage"...Party on, for the cause!

Your daughter, a student of humanity....observing life's intricacies....and describing them so we can ALL feel the 'grittier side".........
I think I'd like BOTH kids...........and, since they are in the BahamAHHS, I hope they have time to enejoy the wonderful blue water and soft sand between their toes.
Lucky kids.........and good work!
(BTW-ENJOY your peaceful home while they're gone!

Jen,

Thanks for posting the comments!  How funny it is to read the different perspectives!!  Sounds like you've got a pair of terrific kids!

Isn't it strange how 2 kids can grow up in the same household, with the same parenting styles guiding them, but turn out so differently?  That's how my brother and I are - different as night and day - though hopefully still both good people at the core.

I hope they have a wonderful time on the mission!  Great of them to go and do that!  Thanks again for sharing that story!  Made me laugh :)

Hugz,
Carrie :)

Jen:

I just love both perspectives and won't comment on the differences, but I also love that they've both given of themselves to a mission trip.  I hope that it's rewarding to all concerned.

Ya mean there IS a difference?  (other than one having an external thingy and the other and internal one)   ;)

I thought ALL kids are just PITA's!!!  Some more than others ... (except ME, of course ... I was a model child)   :D

They sound like GREAT kids, Jen!  (They must get that from the PATERNAL side)   ;) :-*

Both of your kids sound fantastic!  Good job, Mom.

I hope they have a wonderful, safe trip (without cafeteria food!)

Son - looking to the future with his eyes on the job to come
Daughter - in the present moment criticizing the job just completed
Both are typical of the species  ;D

Wow, that was funny.  Thanks for posting Jenn!

LOL!!!   ;D

My kids and my grandkids are different like that. The boys are thoughtful, deep and pretty low key. The girls are like frat boys gone wild, LOL. They revel in all things I find crass... like belching out tunes, describing, uh, bathroom situations, etc.

I really should find a charm school, or something... but they are funny as hell.

My daughter is like that.  Last night she asked her dad and me what to do if you felt a bunch of gas in her stomach and it just wont move.  Dad told her to take a crap, she said it takes to long to get it to come out that way. So I told her to stand on her head to let gravity help.

She walks back into her room, and about a minute later "BBBBRRRUUUPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!"  And we hear "Never mind" from the other room.  I fell off the bed laughing.  :D

I figure she is going to be the girl that will be out belching and farting all the guys.
