Since my last thread its' been a roller coaster ride from hell. David got out of the hospital after 17 days and was home for 4 days when the nightmare began. I took him back because of difficulty breathing. He spent 5 night in ICU in Libertyville then flow medivac to Chicago where they manually pumped his lungs along the way. The flight was ok and he made it safely. He is still in ICU and has been here in Chicago for 9 days now. They finally took the tubes out after 12 days of life support. He can now breathe with alternating between just a mask with 02 and a ventilater. The good news is each time he has lasted a little longer without the ventilater and they have not had to put the tubes back in which is where we pray that doesn't have to happen. I could go on and on but just letting you know he has been through hell and back. BUT, things are looking up, and all the prayers are being answered. He is ONE TOUGH GUY and determind to beat this and we will continure to pray together.

Thank you all for your support. We feel blessed to have such wonderful people and family praying and caring for our David.

I'm sorry to hear that it's been such an ordeal--but as you pointed out, David is very strong, and I'm sure he will continue to fight, and gain ground.  

Can't imagine what you're going through...I hope the days to come bring continued better news.

I have continued to pray for all of you, hon. Poor kid has had more than his fair share of crap thrown his way.

Oy Bob...  I'm so sorry to hear all that David (and you, his family) has been through!  What a horrid ride, is right.  Has he had an allergy to the chemo?  I'm so glad that he is breathing more and more on his own and they haven't had  to replace the tube.

I've been thinking of you all and keeping you all in  my prayers, and I will continue to do so.  I'm glad to have an update, though very sorry to hear it has been so rough.

Hang in there - we are all definitely with you....
