Sorry cat lovers, but I can't stand them.  I find most of them nasty, and they make me sneeze and my eyes itch like crazy when I am around them.  There is one imparticular that I hate and will do almost anything to keep it away.  I have reseeded several small to medium size areas in my yard.  I have a solution to keep this cat away while the grass is coming up.  BUT....when I remove my contraption, this dam cat shows up and uses it as a litter box and digs it up.

And of course, I stained my deck and who was the first to show up with its muddy paws.  I have read some remedies including placing dog hair around the areas.  Has anyone had success keeping these rodents off their property, away from gardens. How did you do it?

Of course the cat belongs to this crazy lady 2 houses down who I can not stand which makes me hate this cat even more.

Lol. If you don't want a dog either, there are these motion detecting sprinklers. Kind of pricey, but they sound like fun. You hook them up to a garden hose, set them near the spot where fluffy useally comes, and they detect fluffy's presence, turn on, and give fluffy a bath. I guess if you really hated fluffy, you could put some dye in there, just for fun :)

as for MY cats, they are here in our home, waiting for you to come visit, so they can lay their fluffy lil bodies on you and purr. They use their OWN potty.........they never go outside..............yes, they are little royalty......but, best of all, they don't greet me, outside when zi arrive home, squashed like a pancake in front of my house.

Cats are meant to be inside, protected.............

Coyotes work too, but I like cats, so I wouldn't reccommend that.

Three indoor cats here, not coming home to find them anywhere but safely inside to greet us, for food of course! ;)

Excerpts from a Cat's Diary...

Day 983 of my captivity.
My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.

They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet.
I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of.  However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am.
Bastards.

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight.  I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event.  However, I could hear the noises and smell the food.  I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies."  I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking.  I must try this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.
The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return.  He is obviously retarded.

The bird has got to be an informant.  I observe him communicating with the guards regularly.  I am certain that he reports my every move.  My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now.........

The cat knows that you hate it.  That's why it keeps coming around.  

I'd suggest that you pretend to like the cat to keep it away, but it will know that you are pretending, and will come around anyway.

Basically, you're pretty much screwed.

I would never have a cat but I'm nuts about my neighbor's cats so long as they off a few moles and other pesky varmints now and then without  bugging me. One of them is kinda cute too....from afar.

I really am hard to keep away though, once I"ve decided I like you I tend to harass constantly.  Brussel sprouts will keep me away though.

Failing that, spraying hot pepper or sprinkling white pepper wherever they 'sniff' will usually get the message across that this is not a place to poke around.  It will even stop them from using locations other than a litter box for their morning constitutional.

You may not have heard of Pavlov's Cat. Try a fire cracker, M80, or even a pistol if you can get away with it as a territorial scare remembrance. Also, there's no such word as imparticular. Folks just use 'in particular' in a sweeping, seamless way. :)

Me, I just 'splained to the cat that he was here to "work" (outside) catching rodents and keeping snakes away and that I didn't particularly care for cats (I'm really a dog person) and that he'd best get along with the dogs.

He keeps pretty well to himself, I haven't seen a mouse or a snake and he associates with the dogs when he needs company (hates humans).

So you might try "talking" to the darn cat and 'splaining' things to it. They're a lot smarter than you think.

P.S.  Course Joe (the cat) sometimes has to have things "splained" to him again when he forgets, but he has a short attention span... :)

Being a cat person I can understand your frustration.  There is a particular neighborhood cat that I just can't stand.  He's bitten me twice and loves (or used to love) to spray the side of the house and dump in the garden.  My solution was to use a air pistol with those little plastic bbs and shoot him on the arz. After 3 seperate times when I caught him and popped him, he gives my yard a wide berth.  The bbs don't hurt or injure but definately gets their attention.

Just last week, someone around here got sent to the pokey for shooting a neighbor's cat with a bb gun.  The cat is recovering from a wound in the neck.  Me thinks the perp is getting drilled by somebody named Bruno right now, which is probably a lot more irritating than the cat in his yard.

I love my Buxton and will take a cat over a dog anytime.

Given this, two suggestions: 1) try a paintball gun. That would be very entertaining. 2) Collect said depsoits [I call them Scoobie snacks b/c most dog eat cat turds] and give them back to the the propper owner and start billing her for your collection time, "kitty litter", and the cost of the plastic bags.  ;D

I hate to be mean to cats but....Some people don't take very good care of their animals.
 We were absent from home for several years. Upon our return we found our property had become the local cat box. The loose dogs were having a poop party as well. I purchased an air soft pistol. I hate to use it but it is effective. My son and I take hits from them, I think Kitty will live. We don't have the luxury of an animal control office in our city. We should have. Anyway there are less animals around now,but I still get the occasional pile in the flowers. >:(

The dog will do far more damage than the cat could ever do!

First thing you need is a good accurate pellet rifle and a 6 pack.

Drink 2 beers and place them in the critters favorite spot.

Then sit where you can see the area while drinking some more beer.

When the pest comes around shoot one of the cans.

Sit back down and drink the last two beers.

If the cat comes back and you miss the cans, well it’s an accident.

Pellet guns kill, too. I am not condoning that but then again, I'm the guy who uses a .12 GA to take care of my groundhog problem. I still think the paintball gun is a great idea. Nothing gets hurt and shooting them is a BLAST! I've scared off many squirresl from my feeders with my paintball gun.
