RAYNHAM, Mass. -- A 4-year-old boy was allegedly groped in the bathroom of a grocery store by an employee and the boy's father took the matter into his own hands, police said.

The boy's father attacked the perpetrator during the incident at the Market Basket in Raynham last month.

Police said that Valerio Rodriquez, 71, allegedly reached underneath a bathroom dividing wall and touched the boy high on his leg while he was standing on a bucket to used in the next urinal.

The boy's father, who was also in the bathroom during the incident, told police that he forced open the door and punched Rodriquez several times.

Police charged the boy's father with assault for hitting Rodriguez.

Rodriquez told police that he was joking around, but he was charged with a felony account of indecent assault and battery on a child.

Rodriguez is scheduled to be arraigned in Taunton Superior Court July 29. Beatrice will be arraigned July 31.

Can someone tell me what is wrong here?...There are lawyers calling radio talk shows wanting to represent the boys father for free.

If it were my kid the perv would have been dead by the time the cops got there!  >:(

Seems to me that:
A) the kid wasn't actually groped, the guy reached under a stall and touched his thigh. I don't know why he'd joke like that, but my Dad loved to scare the piss out of kids for fun. Like reaching under something and saying "AHH" just to startle someone.

B) The guy was 71, and he wasn't charged. That leads me to think that maybe Dad jumped to a conclusion and over reacted.

C) It was probably a lot more traumatic to the kid to have Dad go postal on some old guy and get arrested, than it was to have his thigh touched, or have an investigation ensue.

If Dad thought it was a sexual thing, he should have called the cops, not beat the crap out of some old guy. That's why we have cops.  

And what his ethnicity has to do with it escapes me.

Yeah, thats what I will do, instead of protecting my child.....I will look for a phone as some perv is molesting my kid, is that what your saying?

As to your other point, do you really think a dude trolls public bathrooms with his four year old to punch out old guys?

One more point, the cops never arrested the old dude (mistake) they summones him. This means no mug shot or finger prints.......who is he really, whats his record?
