Isn't that from the German "Der Stopum vrom Floppun"? Courtesy from my father in the bra department at the age of 10 when he was trying them on his head asking me if they would make good earmuffs. When the gal came over to ask him what he was looking for, he told her that he needed an over the shoulder boulder holder for his mom. She asked him the size and he said "Lady if I can fit 2 fists into one side then that should be about right." I just wanted the earth to open and swallow me.

Google says it has something to do with the less fortunate than us. It keeps the less fortunate people's heads from flopping around i.e. Handicaapped people.

Well I guess that’s close enough so Potter got it. [smiley=hammer.gif]

It’s a stick you use to whack the fish in the head before you put them in the cooler so they don’t flop around in there and make a mess.

It takes me back to when I lived in Monterey CA fishing for salmon on the ocean.

My uncle used to keep an old potato masher in the back of the boat to quiet things down when necessary.
