Well,

When last reported, My company relocated me from Sunny Southern California to Raleigh North Carolina.  From the minute I got here, it sucked.

My company, decides to acquire another company in Texas.  As I was on the due diligence team, I had to fly back and forth from Texas.  Half way through the process, I said this was a bad idea. I wrote a report on how much the acquisition was going to drain our resources and that the implementation plan was faulty from the start.  What do they do?  they ignore the report and make the acquisition.

So then, I was sent to China and India to set up operation centers to help facilitate the acquistion. I spent one year doing this, when the Board of Directors state that this is a bad idea and fires the CEO.

They hire a former exec from a rival company, and he sends me back from India.  I furnish him my report ( which by the way, stated exactly what was going to happen) and he said they should have listened to me.

I go back to India to finish up the job, when I am called back again.  I go back in the CEO office and he has a guy in their I did not recognize.

The CEO introduces the guy to me as my replacement, and that he is bringing his own team from the rival company to run the show.  They thank me for moving the company to Raleigh, and the efforts in China and India, but they were going to sell off the acquired company ( at a fraction of the purchased price) and going in another direction.

So now, My family is stuck in NC, no network, no contacts, no way to get back to sunny Southern California.

Typical corporate good ole boy bullshit!  You warn them, they ignor you, they are proven to be wrong, then they cover their incompetent tracks by back filling your position with one of their yes men and kick you out the door with a greatful thanks.  Bastards!!

Sorry to get back so late.. so much is going on.  After getting the boot, I consulted in California for about 6 months, flying back to NC once a month, then I found a small consulting gig in North Carolina.  Now, I just took a job in New Jersey!  So.. for the next year, I will be commuting from Raleigh to West Caldwell, flying back to NC on the weekends.... not exactly what I would call a great home life.. but you have to do what you have to do!  I miss you guys and have battled the beast a few times during this saga... but, in a strange way... have found solice in the only constant in my life right now.

so... what have I missed?  :)

Where to start.  Brother jonny is still a dickweed and I'm just ducky.  Just waiting for the Sprint 3Q earnings to cause a RIF again.  Outsourceing is the talk for all departments.  Could be a huge one. Interesting that one division anticipated a 25% reduction in cost when they outsourced to India and are now experiencing a 30% increase in cost.  Great - lets try it again in another division.  Dorks!
