Title: Puter Guru's Needed - Part 2
Post by Sandy_C on Aug 11th, 2008 at 10:06am
After umteen gazillion years of working for a man from Neanderthal times, after his death, his son, who is 52 years old took over the business.

The first thing Sonny said, is this computer system is an antique - we're upgrading.

Well, I have just had installed (Friday) a new system - faster than lightening!  I went from a 40 G hard drive to 300 G.  From almost zero ram to 200G.  Dayum!  This puppy moves compared to my old system.

I also, for the first time in almost 19 years, have SOUND!  Old Bossman would never allow music, no matter how softly played in his office.

OK, here's the question.  Now that I have SOUND, how do I connect online to, at least for now, just a radio station for a little background music?

Thanks

Sandy

Go to START PRINTPAGEMultimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or RegisterEND PRINTPAGE, they list over 20'000 streams.

You als need Winamp (free from START PRINTPAGEMultimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or RegisterEND PRINTPAGE) to play the music. (I strongly disadvise from using the clumsy, chatty Windows Mediaplayer.)

Happy listening

What about Real Player Ueli? She can still get the free Helix Gold 11 based free one. And I always thought it worked a bit better.
But I bow to your superior knowledge in this area.

Sandy, if it's not already on your computer, get Realplayer, from START PRINTPAGEMultimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or RegisterEND PRINTPAGE.

You can download the free version, and get songs, or download them, and save them all to your music file, then have Realplayer scan that file. It will put the music on Realplayer, and you can create playlists for your music, and play a group of songs, depending on what your mood is that day.

Having music at work is great. Our corporate IT dept. won't allow us to have a program to play music, however, they supplied us with some decent speakers, so we take turns bringing in our laptops, and playing from them.

(Speed is nice, isn't it? I had our IT dept send me some more memory, as what we had wasn't enough. That was just the ticket  8-))
