Wednesday we went to a mountain bike park called Hardwood Hills. Here is Angie taking a break (thankfully no poison ivy where she is sitting [smiley=biggrin.gif]

Our fun ended in a blink of an eye. One of our riders took one of the hardest face plants we have ever seen. We have cell phones with us and were able to get help to him within minutes. He was taken to the local hospital and ( I won't go into detail) was cat scanned and stitched up and released. We thought it was much worse but he is ok. Here is a pic of his bike.

Today we will continue our mountain bike adventures with out Carlos but we will ride a little more carefully. This really shook-up our group and hats off to how well we all responded to take care of our friend.

Thanks everyone and our friend Carlos is doing ok. He came to thank us at breakfast yesterday but will be having his through a straw for a few days yet.
Here is a pic of the downhill ramp that took him out. It was wet and very slippery so he did not use any brakes and that gave him way too much speed with very bad results.

Carlos was just behind me and he said that he was going for it and it was a very bad decision on his part. Angie was videoing from the bottom and did not know he was coming so she had the camera off, thank god!!!
But he landed about 5 feet from her and she is still very shook up about it. This is what we do but sometimes things go bad and this was one of those times. :'(

Wow, Doug made that look easy.  I'm with you.  Get off the bike and plan the route  :o

She walked her bike down. I am same as you Dennis, I never try something like this without checking out what is ahead of me. Common sense applies big time in this sport.

We decided on Friday that our bikes needed some things replaced and tuned up because of all the mud we have ridden in. A quick trip to our local Purple Bike Shop to get repairs done.

We are taking today off (my legs are saying thanks so much for that) and having a BBQ and bond fire at one of our rider's (Cathy) home located on the Severn River.
