Title: Wife is in harms way, worried and pissed (Updated) Post by echo on Aug 18th, 2008 at 2:54pm
08/22 - she is home safe and sound. Thank you all for your caring and concern.
The wife's new VP called for a manditory meeting, scheduled two weeks ago, that should start at 3pm today in the Orlando Area. 20 people flying from different parts of the US all heading into Faye. Why the hell he didn't pull the plug and reschedule is beyond me -- other than a power trip. Hopefully she will get held up in Atlanta until the storm blows over. Thanks for listening. |

I know she'll be fine. It's just the fact that it is not an urgent trip. Why send 20 people into something that could easily have been avoided.
Rant over. |

Mark! Your mantra is "Pams' gonna be just fine!" Repeat as necessary!!
I'll cross my fingers and keep my eye on the news, but, she's gonna be just fine. Planes don't fly if the captain thinks he might not make it, please remember that..............Nonetheless, a little Clusterville vibage can't hurt..soo, on it's way cueballman! Keep us posted, wouldja?? Cathi |

Where better to rant than right here? Lord knows most of us have done that a time or two ;)
Crossing fingers for your wife - that storm sounds very nasty from what I see on our weather channels here. Take care. Carol |

Should be okay up around Orlando, unless the storm path changes. They'll no doubt get some weather, but it shouldn't be in the center of the thing.
I'm monitoring what's going on with Faye via my mom, and my brother and his family. They live between Orlando and Tampa. Best, George |

Just heard from Pam. She is in Orlando, listened to two kids screaming on the plane for 3 hours, schools are closing and the car rental is balking at releasing cars. Needless to say she's bound just a little tight right now. (shhhhhh - glad I'm in Kansas and out of the line of fire).
I suggested going to the bar having a couple glasses of wine and then calling the hotel bus or hiring a limo or taxi. She's got a corporte card - charge it!! |

Thanks George! I appreciate that.

Five star hotel -- Limo or nothing.... Only the best for that girl... 3 hours of squalling kids.... several drinks....!! :) In fact a bottle of champaigne is in order.... Sit out the storm and worry about things tomorrow.
Glad she's ok.... Now you relax.. Hugs BD |

Mark keep us posted.
You can be her sounding board about the F'ing Idiots you are making her and the others go there at this time. It is just to show that they have the power. I've worked for a couple of those. ::) Love and Light -Tia |

Just got off the phone with my mom.
Other than a few bands of rain passing over, they don't anticipate it will amount to much in Orlando and vicinity. Best, George |

Echo, I'm sending up Prayers that God will provide her with Safe Traveling Grace.
And if you can't rant to family, than who can you rant too? We care together and we Prayer together... Please let us know when she's safely back home... and I have no doubt that she will be. Peace & Blessings Ruthie |

My wife's a road warrior too, already logged almost 100 nights in hotel rooms this year. You cross your fingers and pray, be keeping you and her in our families prayers.

She's there and in her hotel room. She says its raining like crazy. I think she stopped by the bar. Oddly she is staying in a room we stayed at together about 10 years ago when she visited me while I was there for a month. So sweet, she was tearing up. She misses this bald old fart.

Whew. Glad she's okay. Hitting the bar a few more times.... 8-) would work for me........

That plain sucks. My wife and I also travel cross country for work. She was in Manhattan Sept 10th. 2001.
Nowadays it seems I worry often, and I am sure it only makes things worse, not better. Try to think happy thoughts......... |

Good. :)
Just talked to Mom again. She tells me that other than some rainstorms, it's no big deal where she's at. Farther south, though, there's been some serious wet. Hope everyone at CH.com who lives down that way is doing okay. ???? Best, George |
