Title: I blew my top yesterday! Post by HappyElaine on Aug 20th, 2008 at 9:26pm
You live with a man for 25 years, he knows not to cross me after several nights of no sleep. I spend my days homeschooling , I push my self to be very loving and patience. I count to 10 some times 20 a lot. Last night I cooked salberry steak , quash, and cream corn. Everyone sits down at the table and we start to eat. Buddy says are these your usual squash. I said yes why He said they tasted like they did not cook long enough. Then he took a bit of the corn and said you thicken them to much. Being in cycle I find I am low on patience. He says; Honey I was expecting friends tomatoes and egg plants. I picked up his plate dumped in in the bowl of corn then dumped in my plate and all the squash. I then slid a plate of tomatoes in front of him and said here is the only thing you did not complain about. I waled out on the porch and had a smoke. He said he didn't see the big problem. Well I told him, listen you eat out everyday with people, and you eat good things, steak, shrimp, lobster, when you come home and tell me, I don't complain or stuff the fact that I eat the same crap everyday down your throat.
To night he came home to salmon pattys, fried green tomatoes,Fried egg plant sliced tomatoes and boiled ORka. When he sat down I told him be very careful what you complain about I have knife by my plate! 8-) He sat there with his :-X and said not a word and ate everything 8-) When will they learn during cycle be cool, because we can't ! It would be different had he been up with me and he was tired to. But I have let him sleep. i THINK THE MAN HAS A DEATH WISH! |

Elaine, I know it wasn't funny at the time but the way you posted, cracked me up. I read it to Ruth and she was laughing too. But I learned that lesson a long time ago. I would have come to the table the next night with an empty plate in front of me. ;)

Its funny now to me to, but what isn't funny Jimi is I want to go to sleep but I know I will get hit. Buddy is in bed sleeping like a baby. I know its just jealousy on my part but I want to sleep. I feel like dumping water on his head. Of course I won't , not until the pain gets so bad and I have a death wish LOL.
I am so bad for even feeling like this. I have a shut eating grin thinking about it , oh I am going to hell for this ! Damn clusters LOL |

jimi makes a good point. i never comment on my wifes cooking. on the same token she doesn't complain about all my pet projects scattered out through the house and the yard. edited to say: i am going to try to get to batter and fry some squash. |

yeah ya never get used to that lack of sleep. in past cycles i've have became very violent. not towards my wife and family just in general. maintaining your sanity after being awake for a couple weeks is a very difficult task. especially after you've lost a job. |

Elaine, I am surprised he is sleeping, you might want to check. He may still have one eye open!
I needed the humor tonight guys! This feels so much like a great family to be a part of. I guess it is a trade off, to be a part of this you gotta be a PAIN! HA! :D Kathleen Wichita, Kansas |

That is the hardest part for me Jonny, no sleep. I homeschool my grandson and have done really good. Matter of fact I been so tired I have been in a silly mood, JD loves that. As soon as school is out, I go outside and lay back and pray for some peaceful sleep. I never make it, I fix dinner and wait for everyone to come home. Then I just sit on the porch like a little girl waiting on her punishment, knowing it will hit within the next few hours.
As much as I hate to my eyes won't stay open much longer I must go to bed. Just pray I sleep without being woak up. I need a night off. Jonny sorry about your Job. That really sucks big time. Jimi you learn fast takes Buddy a little wile ! |

well i lost my job several years ago so i'm ok. one of the great things about trucking is your by yourself. when i'm in cycle i just have to adjust my log book. it's either that or starve. being uncontrollably silly is a good side effect. it beats being scared of the inevitable.

You made me hungry for some fried green tomatoes....yumm!
I hope you get some rest soon. Also, I get the same way when I am missing alot of sleep and Sam no sooner hits the pillow and he is in dream land. Makes me silently mad even though I know there's no reason to be mad at him. Sometimes when he gets snoring good I plug his nose till he jerks away and rolls over back to sleep. |

my last cycle was last winter. i can remember having the windows cracked and the vents open in my sleeper. i had my head propped up against the interior wall of the sleeper and my head would rattle with the rhythm of the engine idling. when i did sleep i would dream i was driving so when i did wake up to an attack it was just like i got off the road. then of coarse my lips were blue and i had a chill. man that was really tough. it was nice when my cycle was over and i could sleep with the heat on. |

Hi Kathleen,
Glad we cheered you up some. I am sorry you are in pain. The people on this web site are family, anyone here is welcome in my home and can call me day or night. That is the way just about everyone here feels. I have known the people here for almost 10 years. They are the best. If you need anything all you have to do is post. You can even pick out someone you especially enjoy reading their post and just PM them. It is easy to make friends here. We all know the pain I guess that is what makes this place so important to each of us. |

LOL Tara, I think some times "How the hell can they sleep when I am in so much pain!" There were nights many nights my children and my husband stayed up with me. Many years ago we didn't know what was wrong and it scared us all. Now we all know it will go away, yea it will return but it will go away. We all sleep better than we use to.
I think those fried green tomatoes are the last of our tomato garden. I sure will miss those fresh green tomatoes. They just don't taste the same in the winter. |

This past weekend Andrea and I made it 28 years since we said our vows. Very early on I learned a bit of code that allows me to sleep.
If you get a meal you don't really care for (and those are rare) say: "you don't have to go to the trouble of making that again dear". If you get a meal that doesn't measure up to her previous efforts say: " :-X" I learned these lessons during our first year of marriage when what would have been a spectacular meat loaf dies a horrible death when left in the oven too long. My response then was "wow, I think it's dead now". [smiley=bash.gif] That didn't go over too well ;D\ -Dennis- |

Guiseppi, does that very wise Father of yours EVER run out of thought-provoking phrases? Elaine, tell Buddy HE'S cooking dinner tonight. And Jimi? you are so busted with your comment. Ruthie is such a great cook you have never had the opportunity to complain about anything she puts in front of you. |
Title: Re: I blew my top yesterday! Post by HappyElaine on Aug 21st, 2008 at 5:44pm
LOL I just reread my post guess I better start rereading my post before I hit the post button. I left out so many comas. I left off e on bite and s on squash and so on. If I put the comas in and typed every thing right, you guys would think it was someone else !
Oh buy the way...Buddy has said he was sorry and said some really nice things to me since dinner that night...he is really sucking up, I love it ! ;D Oh I kiss him every night before we go to bed and every morning when we get up, when he leaves for work. When I am mad and kiss him.....this does not mean I am no longer mad...it means I still love ya though! He said he still loves me also but not the squash and corn LMAO He will never learn that's why I love him so. |
