One of my favorites, and it will be on my plate in about 20 minutes.
What's for dinner at your house? I love these threads! :) Jimmers, who needs to get his ass back on the treadmill :D |

I ask you, with watering mouth, what's in this casserole besides
Bratwurst? I made chicken ala king. |
Title: Re: Bratwurst Casserole Post by Brew on Aug 21st, 2008 at 7:48pm
I prefer my bratwurst (Karl's Country Market) grilled, on a crusty roll from Sciortino's, with Koop's deli mustard, well drained sauerkraut, an just a tad of Stadium Sauce.
I'll bet this casserole has kraut in it, doesn't it Jimbo? Now that I've gone over the edge, I'm having a roast beef sammy on asiago bread with a greek salad (from Panera). |

Kielbasa fried, lots and lots of garlic butter pasta (Meg is stocking up on carbs for her swim meet tomorrow morning) and broccoli. Summpin' simple.
Her Breakfast will be left over pasta and cheesy rice. |

boy you cheese heads sure do eat good. i like to take johnsonville cheddarwurst and pressure cook it in 2 miller highlifes for about 20 minutes. anything more than that cooks out all the taste. then a few highlifes on the side. then a few highlifes for desert. light beer doesn't really give it the taste that a highlife does.

You've seen me Linda. I was at Mil-Con (Friday). My Wife Barb was the person who picked up your 02 tank when it fell while you were getting hit sitting at the picnic table. I was the guy who was trying to get jonny to buy a drink for a change. :D I'm in the convention pictures somewhere. Anybody got one to post? Jimmers |

LOL. You cetainly are from WI Jimmers.
Bill, I miss Karls. I used to work on Pilgrim road so I ate Karl's for lunch every day. Now I go to Rays Butcher Shop for that kind of stuff - the beef jerkey is awesome - and expensive. I've had nothing my Mc Donalds or Culvers or Pizza or microwave dinners for nearly 3 weeks and nothings gonna change about that for at least 2 more weeks when the countertops and sinks arrive. Sigh. What I wouldn't give for food actaully cooked on a stove or in an oven............. |
Title: Re: Bratwurst Casserole Post by jimmers on Aug 22nd, 2008 at 1:56pm
6 brats taken out of the skin, crumble, brown and drain
cubed raw taters, mushroom soup frozen green beans shredded cheddar Mix it all together That's it! I may try to add some sauerkraut next time as Brew said. Put it in an oven safe no stick pan, cover and cook till done. Add more cheese on top if you like. S&P to taste Hells kitchen Jimmers :) |

Title: Re: Bratwurst Casserole Post by Redd on Aug 24th, 2008 at 6:46pm
Pat? Please tell me how it turns out. I have a (similar but not quite)ham and cheese casarole the kids love. This is similar, so it could be added to the line up...
BTW my kids hate saurkraut, but I adore it. Makes for some minor dinner time issues. |
Title: Re: Bratwurst Casserole Post by Langa on Aug 24th, 2008 at 6:47pm
Baked chicken with Potato Salad...wait, just heard Crystal tell me she wants macaroni salad instead. I told her what about you attempting to make yourself if I tell you how to do it...she said "me, cook?. I'm just supposed to go around looking cute and then do the dishes for you. Guess i'm making macaroni salad too.
Enjoy dinner guys. Langa |

Just got back from Up Nort Eh!
How did it turn out Pat? Just curious. Jimmers |
Title: Re: Bratwurst Casserole Post by Mosaicwench on Aug 24th, 2008 at 9:13pm
The casserole was awesome!
Even JrBrew had some, and he's not a big brat fan. I used Karl's precooked Sheboygans so I didn't have to fry it up. I also added a layer or Durkee's fried onions on the top with the extra cheese. Good eats!! Brew forgot to mention to me that he wanted Kraut so it was served without. But he got my "darn-good chocolate cake" for dessert so I don't think he's too traumatized. Thanks Jimmers! |
Title: Re: Bratwurst Casserole Post by jimmers on Aug 25th, 2008 at 7:22am
Whew,
I told Barb about this thread. She said "What about the onions?" Good thing you put the Durkees in there! Must be Womens intuition. Good call Pat :) Oh well, I'm just a Guy! :D Jimmers |
