Post by Charlotte on Aug 24th, 2008 at 5:30pm

The leaves look a little like ivy, but the way it grows makes it look like Morning Glory to me.

I have some that look the same, they overtake all the plants around it.

In could be wrong, (and I'm known to be when it comes to plants) but the wirery white floral reminds me of a version of a wandering Jew vine.

They are hearty plants that weather well indoors here in the Mid west. and if pinched back at just the right time, they make a lovely bushy vine that can crawl a trelis and hang the lovely blossoms towords the sunny windows. They die here over winters outdoors but there in Cali, they have a great climate for growth all year long.

when in doubt "Round up"

I have no clue about the plant Char... I think it's kind of neat looking and would probably just let it go for a season to enjoy it.... but that's me.
If you're afraid that it may be poisonous... use round-up on it.

with warm regards,
Tony

Snip it off at ground level. It's more democratic, less totalitarian.

The best horticultural minds here at Cal Poly are stumpped.  One does have a neighbor who heads the invasive plant org and is going to ask him.  Should have an answer tomorrow.

I swear I've seen this thing while hiking the hills & creeks.
