Title: It's raining at my house Post by sandie99 on Aug 28th, 2008 at 12:06pm
Last night I cried myself into sleep. I heard earlier news, which nearly broke my heart.
Timo, my boyfriend & best supporter, has always been very close to his mother's side of the family. His cousin and godmother, the daughter of his favourite aunt (the very same aunt who helped Timo's mother to raise him and she is still like a second mother to him), was diagnosed with cancer not that long time ago. Timo's sister told him that he might want to take time off from work and visit his godmother this week, because she might not live to see September. Timo took his sister's advice and is now on that journey. But it was too late, because last night Timo's favourite aunt called and told us that her daughter had already passed away. :'( I got to meet this lovely lady just once, but I recall her fondly. Her husband and two teenaged daughters have a long road ahead of them and my thoughts and prayers are with them. And I'm thinking and praying for Timo's favourite aunt and her husband as well; those sad news mean that both of their chidren are now passed away before their parents. And I don't need to be a mother to know how heartbreaking that must be to them... :'( I know very well that Timo is hurting too. His mother died because of cancer as well; it runs in that side of the family, but it was still a sad surprise. I'm kind of glad that it's been raining the whole day in here - it suits my mood perfectly. Aguess this has been another reminder about how precious life is and how quickly it alters. Wishing you all nothing but the best, Sanna :'( |

I'm so sorry Timo's cousin died Sanna but I'm truly grateful she lived. She left a world behind that is richer for having had her in it - what more can anyone ask as proof of a life well lived and a love that was shared and returned.
She'll never be gone as long as she is remembered fondly, with smiles, love and pleasure and I know in my heart that is her legacy. much love to you, Timo and all her family, God bless you all Helen |

Thank you all so very much for your kind words. I swear that I can feel the hugs, vibes, prayers and wishes. :)
I know that every once and in a while all those feelings about losing my father return and hearing the news about Timo's cousin and godaunt brought some of them back, no doubt about it. Helen, you're absolutely right; it's time to celebrate someone who visited our lives and left a mark on it in a beautiful manner. I said a prayer and the Universe answered "yes" Love is all around me I know I'm blessed (S.H. 28.8.08) Sanna |
