It's raining here and my head hurts.

Please help me- I want to dream of holidays if I ever actually go to sleep.

Where is the perfect, dream but CHEAP holiday destination. Anyone can have a dream holiday if they are rich.

So far my vote is Egypt: Wonderful ancient sites, beaches, sunshine, great food, friendly people- very cheap!

oh and lots of very dead people wrapped in bandages who have been dug up!

P.S. I would have said Vegas but although it's cheap and we really loved it, it's a bit tiring and the culture aspect is a little bit lacking! (sorry!)

a week or soo....with friends in Portland........PRICELESS!

Wendy, you should be close enough to take a nice holiday in the Tuscany region of Italy.  My dream is to live out the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun."  You are much closer, much more doable I'd think.

Almost 4 years ago I took a cruise ship from Puerto Rico, spent 3 days in the carribbean and then went across the pond to Madeira (The most beautiful place I have seen).  Then the ship went to Lisboa Portugal, Le Havre, France and then stopped in England, where I spent a nite in London.

For those of us that can't spend more than a few days at the sunny beaches, this was the perfect trip.

well i went to the" bay" 2day for a holiday.....................that's the Great South Bay, and it's about 5 minutes to the beach from my house....(in my SMART car that is!)...............walked to an outdoor restaurant and had some lunch and some wine...........i just may be goin to the Bay every day now, till it gets cold.......................bout as close to a Holiday i am going to get to at the moment.......................but it worked for me.................................

I feel quite weepy.

Sadly it is a dream to make me happy at the moment as kid goes back to school this week so can't go anywhere until next school holidays unless I just bugger off and leave husband to cope (can't do that) and we really are borassic (hope that word makes sense in American, probably not but it means skint, penniless, no dosh)
