Title: Meeting Karl...
Post by George_J on Sep 4th, 2008 at 11:47am
I finally met my first clusterhead in person!

Karl from Lewiston is here in Boise, and we met for coffee this morning before he started his day.

I've gotta say, meeting a clusterhead for the first time was one of the damndest experiences of my life--it's remarkable to talk to someone who knows exactly what you're talking about.  Funny thing is, we recognized each other right away--even though we'd never even seen a photo of the other person.

Karl's a great guy, and the hour we spent talking was over far too soon.  Looking forward to seeing him again soon.  I expect we'll likely do some fishing at some future time, from the sounds of things.

You all are so right--there's no substitute for meeting another clusterhead.  There's nothing like it I've ever experienced.   :)

All the best,

George

Hate to say, "I TOLD YOU SO!" but "I told you so!!!" ;)

Bet ya'll just sat there and starred at each other -- nothing to talk about at all  :-X  Right???

Glad you got the experience (and for those who haven't met another Cher -- it IS an experience). The only problem is - you just can't explain it can you? Some of us have been trying for years and you just have to experience it to understand.... glad you do now....

Hugs BD

Note to Karl: You don't have to wear dress slacks and a tie to meet a fellow clusterhead. Just file that away for next time. ;)

I think Karl was on his way to work so he can be excused Brew.

Any other time...jeans, T-shirt, shorts, etc. are the uniform of meet-n-greets.    ;)

I'm pretty sure I knew it was something like that. ;)

Do you think I'll get in trouble for not being helpful?

Just flew home.
I only wear a tie and slacks for work indeed, otherwise its jeans or sweats..
it was truly an experience i won't forget. George was an awsome guy and thier was an instant trust and I work in a job where i always doubt first and trust later.  I work for Homeland Security.
I felt at ease as we told each other our stories (no judgment just an understanding).  I feel like i have met a friend that will last our lifetimes.
I have never been in a conversation where i didn't defend or explain.
IT was cool.
I did find out that i had sent a thank you to chuck when it was supposed to go to potter!!!  Sorry chuck.
any way it was the best coffee hour  I had ever had. thanks for meeting with me george.

Karl 8-)

He still is. ;)

I can tell by your written account that this meeting blew you away. Ain't it grand? I've seen grown men reduced to tears in just such meetings.

Like, ummmm, WHO CARES?

Besides, this was a CLUSTERHEADS meeting, and we all know that WDGCH!!!

LOL, it is ok, Karl.  I will let it slide ... THIS time!  LOL!  But you sure had me scratching my head, trying to figure out what you were talking about!  LOL!

Meeting clusterheads is just unbelievable!  After meeting my first small group, I now do whatever it takes to meet more, or re-meet with those I already know and love!

To think, I don't have to go into a long song and dance to explain what is happening, when I get hit, and I ALWAYS seem to get hit ...  It blew me away, at that first gathering (in South Carolina), when I got hit, no one went nuts, or told me to go lay down, or any of those other stupid things we get told.  They just asked if I had oxygen, or needed any help.  I told them I had the O2 and didn't need any help.  They just let me go to my car, and deal with it.  No trauma, no drama.  Then they welcomed me back, without battin an eyelash.  What a RELIEF that was!

Chuck

That's great guy's! I hope that you had a great time!

I had the opportunity to meet Beth and her husband John a couple of weeks ago.  We met for dinner and drinks.  We sat for a few hours talking like old friends.  I hope that we will make it a habit of getting together!

I'm so glad that I found this place.  You ALL feel like family! [smiley=hug.gif]
