Hanna is on the way to the Carolinas.  They think Hana will hit in the Wilmington area.  Guess where I am going to be this weekend?

On the coast, on the island, just south of Wilmington!  Maybe I will get to watch Hana!  And then Ike!

GOOD times in store for a storm loving freak like me!  To be RIGHT on the coast when one hits, has to be AWESOME!!!  I can't wait!

Most folks with any sense run the other way when a major hurricane blows through.  Looking forward to a weekend on the outer banks with one is a whole nuther level of nuts.   ::)

But I guess that shouldn't surprise me.  This is Chucks thread afterall. :-/

Just remember, when you are chased by the water up to the attic, remember to grab the axe on your way up. :o

I hear ya chuck.  Wish I could be there too.  Always wanted to experience one.  I could drive down the Jersey shore  as they have tropical storm warnings in effect.  Enjoy and take pictures and stay safe.  hold on to the o2 tanks.  You don't want them going air born especially when you are connected to it

Looks like I'll get my chance to experience the remnants of this storm early Saturday.  I hope it's mostly blown out by then.

I remember Hurricane Bob back in 1991.  We went without power for six days.  That was before we used dry baby formula.  Ended up keeping our formula in a fridge next door.  Our neighbor had a generator.

If nothing else I'll get a chance to see if Barb's barometer theory holds for me too.

Chuck,  I remember last time you got excited about a hurricane. You talked about it for days, checked your camera several times, made plans to get out there at the crack of dawn......then the beast blew your plans, literally, out of the water..........
now, that was extreme.. BUT......since I  know youi'll do it, come hell or highwater,  do me a favor.............be careful! Use precautions! Get a telescopic lens!!
Do what you will, coz I know you will anyway, just, please, ya pickle head. don't be foolish.......enjoy from a safe distance, so you can live to tell us all about it!

Check in already, will ya?!?!?!  I didn't see on the news how bad Hanna was when she went ashore in the Carolinas, but she sure dropped a lot of rain up here in Philadelphia!!  The wind wasn't bad, and the rain totals weren't even close to as bad as....what was that other one that hit the NE real bad back in 1999-2004?  (I know that's a big range of years!  Problem is, I remember I was at Penn State, but I don't remember what year it was - think it was in the earlier end of that time frame!)  I ended up changing my clothes 3 times yesterday just because a minute long walk from my car to my apartment WITH an umbrella left me completely drenched to the bone!

But I hear your excitement...  My friend Mike always used to say that I'd be the one he'd see on tv in Florida, screaming into the camera, "I'm riding this one out, guys!!!"  Love storms, and always wanted to see a hurricane up close.....but also live to tell about it!
