I love people who tell it like it is, regarless if it proves themselves wrong at some point. Jesse did that plenty and it showed he had integrity at least. Candidates are people too and it is no realistic for them to be expected to be perfect.

The problem is, when he got elected both the dems and repubs clammed up on him and nothing got done in MN for all those years and Jesse paid the price for it.

I don't know -- I really think if he were running this time - he'd get my vote in a heartbeat.

Let's see, he has a military background, he has family problems (his kid is in jail), he's been a governor (balanced budget, cut pork barrell spending, etc).... yeah experience... and probably knows how many houses he owns... yep I sur nuff would vote for the guy.... new breeze in DC....

jesse ventura said that he spent $300,000 on his campaign in Minnesota. i saw on tv that cindi mccain $300,000 on the dress that she wore to the republican convention. i have a serious problem with that.
i like what jesse said about the second amendment. the right to bear arms goes beyond hunting. neither party addresses   the second amendment that way. it may sound extreme in this day and age but keep in mind back when the constitution was written we were gaining our independence from england. man theres so much that he talks about that strikes a nerve with me.

It was $300,000 on the entire ensemble, which included her multi-carat diamond earrings.

Why is that a problem? It's her money, she earned it, and she spent it. Capitalism. Isn't that what makes the American economy go chug-a-chug-a?

yeah you got a point. but keep in mind, these are the same elitist that say theres nothing wrong with our economy. i guess if you can spend that much on an outfit theres nothing wrong with your economy. i don't buy into giving all the money to the top % and they'll trickle it down to us eventually. it's time to get these elitists out of government be it democrat or republican.

I can't put my finger on when, exactly, it became a sin to be rich. As far as I remember, it's not money that's the root of all evil, it's the LOVE of money that is. Cindy McCain is a successful businesswoman. So what?

I'd like to be a successful businesswoman.

Well, you know what I mean.

no your absolutely right. it's not a sin to be rich. but these are the guys (or women) who make the rules to keep them rich and through you a spin. just from whats going on in my world. the bush administration has pushed this program to let mexican trucking companies have mexican truck drivers pull freight anywhere in the united states. they are setting up ports down in mexico to bring all the garbage that we are forced to buy no a days from china. this is the same administration that wants to build a wall. what the good is a wall going to do if you let them in by the truck load. and who is going to get the contract to build that wall.

as for the democrats. the demcocrats have joined forces with the teamsters union to ban owner operators from pulling freight out of the port of long beach ca. in the name of pollution and protecting the environment. instead of giving an independent the option of getting and some updated equipment you cut his nuts off and force him (or her) to work for you.  thats bullshit

I'm all for being a rich businesswoman (esp if it's inherited - don't have to work so hard), but what JOhnny is getting at is that the "rich" don't "really" understand (although they say they do) what it's like down here in the trenches working for a "paycheck" and actually paying your "own" bills at the kitchen table (or deciding which ones to pay this week).

I have no sympathy for those who don't get off their butts and go out and TRY to help themselves, but those who do and find their jobs "outsourced" overseas, that's what's WRONG - and if anyone in the "middle class" thinks the economy is STRONG - they're living in a dream world. Maybe I'm older than most here and I've seen "good" economies and bad ones and trust me this is a BAD one.

But Jesse is right about the dumbing down of America -- it's just too easy to take someone's word about what is "Good" for us. Too damn hard to "think" for ourselves and let those we elected know about it.

Wish I could hear the phrase 'filthy poor' become more acceptable. What the (especially) left in our country just LOVE to do is employ wealth envy to buy votes. And it works.

Let's not delude ourselves--it's the wealthy who make this country run economically. They purchase, invest, and expand businesses. When is the last time a poor person developed a niche market and provided a job?

I don't have much money personally but I detest whenever I hear someone point out how much someone else has and what they think they ought to be doing with it. Don't be stuck in the trap of wealth envy--whatever you earn should be yours to spend as you see fit regardless of what other people think about it.

I agree with you.  I love Gates BBQ in KC and I love a quality buffet.
